Future Classic Party at Vivid Live with Isolée, Jacques Renault

  • Future Classic are taking over the Opera House for Vivid LIVE in June! This late night show at Australia's most famous music venue will feature pivotal German house and techno veteren Isolée, NYC's Best DJ - as voted by Paper Magazine - Jacques Renault, young and fresh faced Sydney producer Flume and the brains behind the label and parties the Future Classic DJs. Over the last 15 years, Isolée has managed to create a breathtaking trademark sound. In 1998, Isolée achieved a timeless stroke of genius with Beau Mot Plage (Playhouse). He enchanted listeners across genres and the world, pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music further than they'd ever been pushed before and in doing so redefined the new breed of European house music. This was followed by two highly acclaimed albums on Frankfurt label Playhouse, Rest and We Are Monster, along with numerous remixes for artists like Recloose, Blaze, Franz Ferdinand, Roy Davis Jr., Tiga, Alter Ego and International Pony, to name a few. More recently Isolée 2011's Well Spent Youth on DJ Koze's label Pampa which again was met with critical acclaim. Last year the Sydney Morning Herald described Jacques Renault as "One of the key players in New York's thriving nu-disco scene". His remixes are loved by DJs such as A-trak, Aeroplane, Busy P and Tim Sweeney and he's released tracks on just about every cool dance label of recent years including DFA, RVNG Intl, I'm a Cliche, Mule Musiq and his remix of Midnight Magic's "Beam Me Up" was one of the biggest dance floor tunes of the recent disco revival. Jacques is returning to Australia after last years sold out club tour. Flume is a 20 year old Sydney beat maker signed to Future Classic. Flume has grabbed the attention of XLR8R, Electronic Beats, Triple J, FBi and many more in less than a year after with his debut EP Sleepless, his much loved bootleg of Onra and his laidback remix of New Navy. Earlier this year he was invited to play Saturday nights on triple j for a whole month for the Mix Up Exclusives Residency and has just returned from his travels across Europe. Having played sold out shows around the country his live set is the only place you can hear material from his new album which is coming this year. True to their name the Future Classic DJs search out the best tunes old or new, delving into dusty crates of vinyl for classics as well as scouring the globe for the future in fresh and interesting new sounds. Nathan McLay, Chad Gillard and James McInnes are all playing back to back! Holding it down in the Western Foyer will be some of Future Classic's favourite local selectors - Shunji & Steele Bonus, Andy Web, and Pelvis. See you 1st of June.
