  • After surviving the snow in February, for our spring party we have a great line up to please even the most discerning party-goer. You will not be disappointed! Once again we will be at NOMAD, this time with a selection of some of the finest up and coming talent around as well as some exciting guests to make sure things go down as dented as can be expected... we can't wait for this one! AHMET SISMAN - (Cocoon / Dumb unit / Lessizmore / Stock5 /Slash Label-Germany) Between Istanbul and Essen, Ahmet Sisman is moving through different worlds. Influenced by the mystique music of the Sufi-Culture, his sound has always something dark and powerful. Combining traditional elements in a unique and post-modern way; Ahmet has created his own style very quickly and it was just a matter of time that he gets his first appearances on several labels. The 'multiculti' guy has made his debut on the French/Belgian Label Lessizmore beginning 2008 and finally after the Stock5 Release in June 2008 he got the attention of the big names in this scene. Like Sven Väth who played at this Summer his track 'Buiya' on Cocoon Amnesia the whole season and finally licensed the African influenced tribal track for his next Mix Session 'The Ninth Season'. Having proved that he wasn’t just a one hit wonder and that his sound was something that was only going to further develop and evolve, he launched his own imprint called Slash with his friend Pherox in February. The label’s first release ‘Saruka EP’ kicked the imprint off in an exciting and creative direction with two tracks that sounded entirely unique. Now comes the 'Esraj EP' on Lessizmore, a four tracker of sublime organic drums, hypnotic rhythms and beautiful instrumental moments, which is an impressive continuation of a very special sound. What makes Ahmet Sisman stand out above all else though, is his consistency. Some may point out that the tribal African/Middle Eastern influence has been heavy in techno and house for years, but Sisman’s approach goes well beyond samples and gimmicky breakdowns. The way his music is structured, and the way his rhythms evolve and grow in potency is very much intrinsic to the musical culture of the region where he was born. It’s pure. So let's hope that this is the beginning of a New World Order for techno, and Ahmet Sisman is merely the tip of the iceberg. DeMarzo - ( Noir / Nurvous / Diynamic / Digital Delight) DeMarzo’s greed for music was hereditary. His father’s life long affair with Soul and Motown became genetic. At the age of 8, DeMarzo was enrolled into the Yamaha Keyboard School where he got his first taste of creativity. Years of writing and performing live became natural and nights spent watching Jazz Funk improv’s became highly influential. Whilst studying music technology at college he began producing his own material –An amalgamation encompassing all his influences became evident in his work. As a multi-instrumentalist, his obligation to inject ‘groove’ into both his productions and sets is arousing more and more interest. DeMarzo’s sound is a meticulously crafted one. His toxic perfectionism and shrewd sense of rhythm lead him naturally to where he is today. Deep, Provocative and Eclectic. Early exposure landed him on Barcelona’s finest Digital Delight records run by Sishi Rosch and Diego Moreno with a forthcoming EP including remixes from Puente & Rosch and Wildkats. Remixes on NYC’s Nurvous Records (sister label ) and an already fruitful plan of collaborations have put DeMarzo in great stead for 2012. Expect big things with releases coming out on Noir early May and Diynamic later this year LEE RANDS & CHRIS MARAN - (mUmU/Fuse) Lee Rands - Lee’s passion for vinyl and ear for quality music quickly got him noticed. In a relatively short space of time he found himself playing at some of London’s best underground parties. After a couple of solid years establishing himself in the london scene he took the step to move to Ibiza and pursue his passion. His sound matured through many influences he heard on the Island, and were he first met the mUmU crew who swiftly made Lee resident in Liverpool, Ibiza & London. Lee's residency at mUmU stands at three years and counting, He's played clubs, beaches, basements festivals & warehouses with some of the worlds best Dj's and its all been done by the age of 25. During this time he has also spun at Fabric & Fuse in london, Space in ibiza and CircoLoco in Liverpool. Lee also runs & co-promotes Unwind, a cool off the radar party in London. Chris Maran - Either warming up or later on into the night lee’s crowd judgment and rugged low slung style keeps the dance floor grooving along nicely whatever the time or place. A passion for the more profound sounds and a deep understanding of the dance floor has seen Chris Maran establish himself as a firm favourite in the electronic music scene. Resident for Fuse London as well as running his own more intimate parties you can expect to find Chris playing long hypnotic sets that build through the deeper shades of house and techno. He keeps his sound original, digging deep for old gems to mix with current sounds to tell his story. Educated on the dance floor from his early years of raving he began his record collection after his first trip to Ibiza when he was 17. His sound has evolved since then into a more stripped back style but his vision for intelligent music with soul has remained eminent. Now dedicated in the studio, Chris is ready to implement his style into his own productions. With a meticulous approach you can expect to hear original productions from this exciting talent. CALLUM HAMMETT - (Kaluki Musik) Callum Hammett, London based Dj/ producer, has only been on the scene a short while but already signed to Manchester's Kaluki Musik after collaborating with Max Chapman on their track 'Give Me The Music'. After only a years DJing experience under his belt, his taste in music and track selection has landed him regular gigs at some prolific parties at venues such as Sankeys, Victorian Vaults, Vibe Bar and The Lightbox. With a gig schedule that is getting busier by the week, Callum is definitely one to keep an eye on.
