Following up from SOLD OUT shows for USA's How to Dress Well & Balam Acab, Astral People are proud to cross the globe and bring you two of the UK's most hyped up, forward thinking producers from the literal thick of it. In a double headed low-end frenzy, London's star of 2011 BLAWAN will be going head to head with understated bass artist PARIAH for one of the most in-demand club experiences from the globe and beyond.
To put it simply, 2011 dance music belonged to BLAWAN. Besides his white label, Brandy-sampling single 'Getting Me Down' becoming one of the most sought-after records in the world, it went on to be polled the number one tune of 2011 by Resident Advisor, as well as spots in Fact Mag's top 20, XLR8R's top 50 and Pitchforks Top 100 of 2011. Simultaneously releasing on the critically acclaimed R&S Records and Hessle Audio, his in-demand production skills (traversing house and techno with a healthy dose of sub-bass), have been supported and championed by the likes Hessle Audio, James Blake, Night Slugs, RinseFM, Mosca and a host of the worlds highest order of tastemakers. With a forthcoming album and support from the worldwide bass continuum, Blawan is set to make his first ever Australian tour one surely not to be missed.
As a contemporary on the night and in musical status, PARIAH is a name often repeated amongst the who's who of new-era UK sounds. Releasing his debut EP on R&S records (rated in the top 20 of 2010 by XLR8R), his distinctly London sound is driven by unique, unheard samples filtered out into an underwater galaxy. Supported and admired by Oneman, BenUFO, Bok Bok, Girl Unit and a raft of forthcoming superstars, Pariah is the sound of the future; driven, filtered and sustained by the music of today.
In 2011, both Pariah and Blawan announced 'Works the Long Nights', a brand new label from which they launched the first of forthcoming collaborative releases. This will be a very rare chance to see some of the most anticipated sounds from the literal home of bass music today. Supporting this massive double-header on the night will be Sydney's reigning low-end follower PREACHA alongside fellow purveyor of the sub-levels BAD EZZY. With a long-(inthemix top 10 2012 most) anticipated double-header and the ever-ready GoodGod Danceteria, this is a night of future music simply not to be missed.
