Dietro il nome Moodymanc si nasconde una delle menti più geniali degli ultimi anni. Danny Ward con le sue produzioni ha creato un alone quasi mistico intorno al suo personaggio, non solo un semplice dj/producer ma qualcosa di più. Assieme a Ralph Lawson e ai Silver City forma il collettivo 2020 Soundsystem, suonando la batteria nelle esibizioni live dei quattro. Moodymanc is a an outlet for Danny Ward's house music. Ward was already an internationally respected drummer/percussionist and hip hop recording artist under the name Dubble D before he embarked on his Moodymanc project. He had toured the world and apperared on albums for acts including Rae & Christian, Fila Brazilia, Only Child, YZ, and The Pharcyde. He is also a gifted Jazz drummer, playing alongside the likes of Gilad Atzmon, Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes, and a host of other internationally touring european and US Jazz artists. He also co-founded and occupies drum and production seats for the acclaimed 2020 Soundsystem since it's inception in 2003.
This background has helped forge a unique DJ talent that combines a wealth of musical influences and produces a truly special sound. Moodymanc's 'Joy' release from last summer caused carnage across the worlds Terrace parties, while his 'Black Paint' track on Tsuba caused devastation in the Underground circuit. He had another recent chart topper with his 'Father ep' on Landed records. He also records for Dessous and Neurotraxx amongst others and the success of his releases has made him one of the most in demand re-mixers on the planet.
Moodymanc is far more versatile and deeply rooted than the average jock and his sets always manage to bring new sounds and excitement any party.
