Named after the epic Def Leppard song, Animal will pay homage to big hair, big riffs and even bigger personalities; with this new night specialising in hair metal, cock rock, power ballads and glam!
Born out of a love for Steel Panther, Spinal Tap, Wayne's World and Bill and Ted; Animal will be tongue in cheek, whilst celebrating amazingly over the top bands and their music.
Taking place at Shoreditch’s trendy Juno club on the Friday 13th April, Animal will be holding its very own air guitar contest, which will be hosted by the Air Guitar UK. Founded as part of the International Air Guitar World Championship Network (AGWC), Air Guitar UK are the UK's only officially affiliated Championship.
Winners from each Animal air guitar heat will go through to a final, held just before the Official UK Air Guitar Championships. The audience will be judging each round, with the applause being registered on Air Guitar UK’s very own Air-O-Meter!
The winner and runner up of the Animal final will win the chance to compete in the UK Official UK Air Guitar Championships; with the champion of the UK being sent off to compete in the World Championships in Finland. Aspiring air guitarists can sign up on the night to be in with the chance of winning the coveted prize! The Air O Smiths air guitar band will get the contest kicked off and everyone in the mood to rock!
UK hard rockers JETTBLACK will also be providing a guest DJ set. The four-piece who hail from High Wycombe have supported the likes of Airbourne, Papa Roach and Fozzy and played at festivals including Sonisphere, Download, Ozzfest, T in the Park, Hard Rock Hell and Relentless Boardmasters.
There will also be a hair metal dress up contest, with the winner receiving a bottle of Jagermeister, in true hair metal style; and face painters on hand to cover you in everything from Kiss make up to lightning bolts.
