  • *Send your full name to [email protected] to get the location annoucement on Saturday.* Rude NY is proud to announce a new concept music series for 2012: Les Nuits de Montréal. Exclusively showcasing the diverse musical talent of Montréal, Canada over a series of uniquely curated events in New York City. Please visit www.lesnuitsdemontreal.com for more information and stay up to date on the series. For the span of this series, we will keep it intimate affair, limited to 150 guests at a very special private space in Brooklyn. This space will set the scene for us to encompass you in the sound, visuals and the LOVE which is the essence of this concept. We are thrilled to announce the lineup for our opening event: MIGHTYKAT (Pronto Musique | Montréal ) STEPHEN BEAUPRÉ (Live) (Wagon Repair, Circus Company, Musique Risquée, MUTEK_REC | Montréal) NOLA (Rude NY) Two highlight sets from the last year for us have come from the astounding MightyKat. Closing out the 2011 Piknic Electronik season and tearing up the terrace of La Santanerra at this year's BPM festival in Mexico alongside fellow Montrealers Nyrma & Sophisticated. She's been bringing down the house for many years playing at prestigious clubs like Club der Visionare (Berlin), The Marcy Hotel and Bunker (NYC), Batofar and Nouveau Casino (Paris), Weetamix (Geneva), MetroDance club (Spain), and held down a monthly residency at Rome’s club Hulala in Italy. With more than 10 years on the scene in Montreal, Stephen Beaupré is an uncontestable artist in the world of Canadian music. With a love for gritty punchy music, at once technological and organic, Stephen skillfully mixes dancefloor rocking tracks always trying to create an atmosphere of humor, excitement and malaise. If you caught Stephen at any of his nights at The Bunker, you'll know you're in for a treat. We couldn't be happier to have the Nola back for our resident for this series. A consummate digger, known for playing marathon sets... Nola is a force to be reckoned with. His sound can best be described as "a methodically unpredictable trip into funk." That sound has progressively caught the attention of many around the dance community in New York and Montréal over the past few years. He has seen more than his share of Montréal sunrises playing alongside some the very artists that will be showcased in this series... and we're looking forward to doing the same here in New York.
