DISTORTION FESTIVAL - CELEBRATING THE COPENHAGEN NIGHTLIFE
Distortion Festival is the flagship event for Copenhagen as a modern city and for Scandinavia's progressive society, with over 275.000 people attending - making it one of the largest annual art/music/street celebrations in Europe. Most events are free and open-sourced to over a hundred "street hosts" – that covers over 100 distinct street parties in 5 days. And as dawn sets, our "anything goes"-attitude fills Copenhagen's streets with the carnival high of Rio - that makes this the party of a lifetime.
On thursday it starts at Nørrebro in Copenhagen from 16.00-22.00h, where the street parties gather about 100.000 people partying, breakdancing, cooking, getting naked, singing and crawling in the streets: we call it BLOCK PARTY. It's almost free and takes place 5 days in a row in 5 different Copenhagen neighbourhoods (the main street events are Wednesday+Thursday+Friday, respectively in Cph City+Nørrebro+Vesterbro)
By night from 22.00-06.00h, we call it NIGHT PARTIES. The Festival all-access TourPas is cheap, the bar is also cheap - and the Distortion dancing man on the logo wall is a guarantee for: absolute party madness + the newest dance music + succulent partnerships with Europa's maestros of contemporary party culture
It is at Distortions official night parties that larger bookings occur. Entrance to the night's festivities requires tourpas bracelets - or one-day wristbands (Wednesday nights parties pass, Thursday night parties pass, Friday
night parties pass).
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Distortion is known for its craziness. We’ve thrown parties on a submarine, in busses, old industrial buildings, in a giant swimming pool, in police HQ, on ships and a lot of other weird places. We guarantee it’s going to be even more wild, crazy and fantastic than ever before. For Copenhagen this is more than just a party, it's the definition of freedom, energy and a place where anything is possible!
