System & Louche Terrace Party: Rhadoo, Raresh, Ellen Allien, George Fitzgerald + More

  • System & Louche Bank Holiday Sunday - 3rd June All Day Terrace Party Mint Warehouse For the second of three Bank Holiday Bonanzas System and Louche offer up headline sets at Mint Warehouse from Romanian trio A:rpia:r, German mistress Ellen Allien and UK bass sensation George FitzGerald. Now worn in and fully rave ready, the new Mint Warehouse has a large main room, more compact and bijou second room – both decked out with Funktion One sound – and a sprawling out door terrace which will be sound tracked just as tastily as the rest of the club. It’s the larger space Leeds needed if you ask us, and we hope to make the most of it once again at this party… First up, making an extremely rare appearance (the first of it's kind outside London) are Romanian minimal trio A:rpia:r aka Raresh, Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo. As well as being a label of the same name, the threesome do a fine line in expressive house and techno both during extended sets in the booths of places like Amnesia, and in the studio for the label likes of Cocoon. The three are all hot shot DJs discovered and championed by Ricardo himself, and getting the three of them together is always a special occasion. Add to this the fact that they are spinning for a jaw dropping 7 hours, and this set is looking absolutely essential to witness. Ellen Allien is the Berlin based head of BPitch Control, one of the most arty and experimental electronic labels of the scene. Releasing the likes of Kiki, Sascha Funke, Moderat and many more inventive producers, her own albums and EPs have been just as essential listening for fans of dark, vocal, poppy house and techno. As a DJ she has not only owned Mint Club many times, but is a regular at influential clubs like Berghain and Watergate. Next up is New Yorker M.A.N.I.K, who's discography boasts releases on the worlds best underground imprints like Josh Wink's Ovum, L.A based Culprit, Poker Flat and Hot Creations. His style is moody, stripped back house music, drawing plenty of influence from and crossing over to funk, acid and electronica. With a touring schedule that has taken in Brazil, Japan, Asia, Europe and of course back home in the States in the past 6 months his DJing capabilities are unquestioned, it'll be great to hear him bring his infectious sound to Mint Warehouse. And finally to George FitzGerald, the Hot Flush and Aus Music producer who has spearheaded the post dubstep movement with his refreshing concoctions of house, techno and bass music. Releases like his Shackled EP are seminal in the genre, whilst George also heads up his own ManMakeMusic imprint and party series releasing the likes of Jack Dixon and, of course, himself. With Flux taking care of business in room 2, absentminds battling Inhabit magazine in the back room, and an onsite gourmet BBQ, this one's looking set to blow up. Louche and System Bank Holiday events are all but city institutions now, so we hope you can come and join us… Louche & System Bank Holiday Dates: Sun 6th May :: Sun 3rd June :: Sun 26th August
