  • Chris Finke FB: https://www.facebook.com/chrisfinke Chris Finke is a DJ, producer and broadcaster from the UK. Raised in England and Ibiza, his introduction into dance music ‚ like many others ‚ was through the UK rave scene. Techno soon took over and after visits to clubs such as Club UK, Lost and Open, it wans‚ long before music became a lifetime passion that would see him travelling the globe. From the very beginning, Chris focused on the technical side of DJing; he appeared in the UK DMC championships and combining this with his love of techno, launched ‚ Flux‚ ‚ a series of London parties and off-shoot record label, which would play host to a long line of big name DJs and acts, including Underground Resistance, Slam, Stacey Pullen and Octave One. It was playing alongside such high calibre acts both there and at his increasing UK and European gigs that Chris really started to hone his craft. Following the launch of the Flux label, Chris and Flux partner And hooked up with Ben Sims to form ‚ Split‚. Together, they ran the iconic parties that shook up the capital and arguably kick-started the techno scene in London again, seeing all-time record crowds at Turnmills, their first residency then at The Key, SE1 and one-offs all over Europe. Chris and Ben also produced the now legendary ‚ Split Radio Show‚ for four years; the monthly programme was syndicated worldwide on both FM and Internet stations and enjoyed a massive, loyal following of listeners tuning in each month. Chris‚ electrifying DJ sets have taken him all around the world, from New York to Japan, Moscow to Thailand and just everywhere in between. He is the sole resident DJ at the seminal UK techno institution ‚ Atomic Jam‚ the biggest and most influential techno parties in the country ‚ and has held international residencies at Decadence in Ghent, Belgium and La Coruna in Spain. His UK appearances continue to prove incredibly popular and he is just as at home playing at Fabric in London or Glastonbury as he is at intimate clubs like Doornroosje in Holland or Unit in Tokyo. His true musical versatility as a DJ has been a great asset in being able to electrify different crowds, from upfront techno & UK Bass to more edgy, eclectic sets across the board. As well as touring the globe with gigs, Chris‚ big room techno productions such as‚ Petrolbomb‚ ‚ Shut the Door‚ and ‚ Dance of Death‚ as well as his killer remixes of Mark Broom‚ Got Me Working‚ and a Guy Called Gerald‚ classic ‚ Blow your House Down‚ have helped secure him as a regular fixture in the charts and radio playlists of a huge number of DJs the world over. Plus with material on the way for respected labels such as Mote Evolver, Trapez, Hidden, Ear to Ground and many more in 2012, Chris is set to turn things up a few notches in the coming months. Aside from DJing, radio and production, Chris is also an advanced DJ Tutor at the Ministry of Sound in their London and European academies. He also made his national UK television debut on ‚ The Gadget Show‚ teaching Ortis Deley to DJ using both CDJs and the Native Instruments ‚ Traktor Kontrol S4‚ in preparation for a performance. The Doc has started 2012 with a big bang. He is carrying on his residency at Manchester's UK best Techno night the Condemned and releasing his productions alongside Go Hiyama, Ryuji Takeuchi, Egor Boss, Peder, Submerge, Brian Burger and many more... Steve Shiels https://www.facebook.com/pages/VOODOO/188869215194 Steve Shiels has been djing, producing and promoting music for over 18 years. The last eleven as resident at Voodoo. Hes been listening to dance music for as long as he can remember. Growing up it was break-dance and electro where you would think nothing of walking The Streets with electro blaring. Times have changed indeed, that scene sort of died and in the late 80s when acid house arrived, it was a natural progression musically. In 1989 he started going to clubs such as the Hacienda, Daisy and the Underground and was so inspired by the dj's he was seeing Record collecting and djing also became a natural progression for me. In 1991 he started playing at illegal parties around the city. Playing a hevely influenced jack trax sound. After scuffing round these parties for a while he started the Friday night at Baa Baa which at the time was the only bar playing music with an underground soundtrack. Doing the Friday night gave him great exposure and not before long Smile (in his opinion Liverpool's biggest night at the time) came calling. This was my first meeting with Smile promoter (now Voodoo promoter) Sam Jones. Sam asked me him to come down and play at one of his nights and I guess that was the start of things. Djing at Smile opened the door to gigs out of town, the most memorable being a messy gig we done down at 'Club for Life' in London. By this time he was playing a harder edged form of house music and it wasn¹t long before the techno bug bit big. At the time he was into Robert Hood, May Day etc.. and my favorite his DJ of the time was Sven Vath. He started going to Voodoo as a punter and to me it was the perfect club, playing deep moody music with back the drop of the Mardis Gras. The two seemed to go hand in hand. When Voodoo moved across town to Le Batue he secured my first guest spot playing deep house and electro. After four or five guest spots he got a residency up stairs. Through playing the second room, guest spots became a regular thing down stairs on the main floor. The rest really is history. Coming from a time when having a residency was vital, at Voodoo it meant he could work and mould his sound to the people he was playing in front of, week in, week out. Voodoo has taken me all over the world Djing and has given me the opportunity to play at clubs he queued up hours outside years previous. He thinks he has warmed up for every single DJ he has ever rated and to this day getting a Voodoo box ready still gets the nerves going. CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION is a project from AUM. Consisting of Dare&Haste, Mutant & Doug Graves. They will be consuming every resource at their disposal for this high tech set! The 1st Birthday is the only one we have planned thus far till the end of the year...we might not do another after the birthday... AUM H.Q (Advanced Underground Music)
