Channel Zoo is thrilled to welcome Detroit legend Moodymann for the first time ever on June 27th!
A true pioneer of house music and arguably one of the most important figures within the Detroit house and techno scene Kenny Dixon AKA Moodymann has been releasing records since '95. His deep grooves are hybrid forms of 4/4 music, cleverly constructed from re-worked classic soul and jazz samples. With releases on Peacefrog Records and Carl Craig's Planet E Imprint, on which he released the collectors item "Silentintroduction' and of course his own imprint KDJ.
His huge repetoire of house music bombs include 'Shade of Jae', 'I Can't Kick This Feeling', 'Freeki Mutha F cker' and 'It's Too Late 4 U and Me'. Tracks that are as fresh today as they ever were. Referencing the roots of black music strongly through funk, soul and disco, his tracks always embrace groove and a dusty vintage analogy feel.
Moodymann's outspoken nature and dis-interest in the press or media make him one of the most fascinating characters in modern underground dance music. He is known for killing the music mid-set and taking the mic in order to talk to the crowd or introduce some real vintage funk and disco, the type that has influenced his own sound throughout his illustrious career.

Over the past three years since it’s inception, Channel Zoo has hosted some of the most forward thinking artists within the electronic music sphere on it’s Wednesday events. A diverse range of some of the industries finest brands, record labels and artists have graced it's stages and helped to build the foundations for this now unparalleled underground electronic music event in Ibiza.
Channel Zoo 2011 season played host to guests such as Chez Damier, Ryan Elliott, The Mountain People, Margaret Dygas, DJ Sneak, Youandewan, Tobi Neumann, Miss Kittin, Spencer Parker, Trus Me, Laura Jones, Kyle Hall & Terry Francis and have very much set the bar high for the forthcoming season by offering this 2012 season to included: Hello?Repeat Soundsystem, Jimpster, Levon Vincent, Masomenos, Secretsundaze, Spencer Parker, Steffi, Terry Francis, The Mountain People and many more.
Taking place in the beautiful grounds of Gala Night Park, an old abandoned zoo in the hills of Benimussa, we can't think of a nicer way for you to spend your Wednesday!
