It’s the final countdown! In about few weeks St. Pölten (NÖ, Austria) is once again going to be the epicentre of the Electronic music scene. From 20 – 22 July 2012 Beatpatrol Festival powered by Raiffeisenclub is going to open its gates for the by now 4th time.
This year’s line-up lists again the “Who is Who” of electronic dance music. Among others superstars like Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, Calvin Harris, Joachim Garraud, Steve Aoki and many more are going to rock the show. On seven stages the best and most booked national and international Djs succeed each other. The Beat Goes On!
Newcomer at the Beatpatrol Festival
Next to superstars the Beatpatrol Festival also focuses on the wide range of young Austrian artists and offers them a platform. Last year already the Beatpatrol Festival launched a newcomer DJ contest via Facebook. DJs were asked to send their mixes and Facebook users could choose the best. The latter got the chance to play at the “New Beat Stage” at the Beatpatrol Festival.
This newcomer project is expanded further in 2012. Besides DJs, VJs as well as film makers are invited to take part in the competition and to prove their skills.
Short Film Patrol 2012
In the framework of the Beatpatrol Festival the Short Film Patrol, an international short film festival, takes place for the first time this year. Without restrictions on genres filmmakers can submit up to 30-minute-long films on www.facebook.com/beatpatrolfestival. Those contributions gaining the most “Likes” or “Gefällt mir”, are going to be shown at the festival. Numerous films from the USA, the UK, Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Canada, France, and so on have already been sent to us. The voting is open till 1 July 2012.
The Greenpatrol
Innovative and exemplary, that’s how one can describe the so-called GreenPatrol. Behind the name one discovers people who are ambitious volunteers and who are active in the run-up of, during and after the festival. With regard to a greener festival management they develop ideas concerning sustainability and environmental awareness and protection for the festival, and try to put them into practice. The GreenPatrol is present at the festival trying to inform guests and to make them participate. At last year’s festival they counted about 50 active volunteers.
Even in the frame of the international GreenEvents network, practically the representative of all big European festivals like Glastonbury (UK), Wacken Open Air (D), Boom Festival (Portugal) or the Beatpatrol Festival as the only Austrian festival, the GreenPatrol concept was highly approved. www.greenpatrol.at
