Ok, lots of you have been asking for us to go to a bigger club with a better sound system, where you can actually move and we've been listening. On the 15th of September Craig Charles is going to be playing and hosting his very own Party at Motion, Bristol. This is going to be the biggest Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club yet.
Just in case that's not got you jumping up for joy just yet, we also have DJ Cheeba performing an AV show - DJ Cheeba is the sight and sound of Solid Steel's new school. Heady beats and blistering sounds come together with iconic music videos, obscure YouTube finds and creative custom edits as Bristol's DJ Cheeba cuts and splices audio and video live on turntables. Following the invitation to join Ninja Tune's legendary Solid Steel radio show as a resident in 2010, Cheeba has spent the last couple of years producing a number of themed audio mixtapes and groundbreaking video projects while relentlessly touring some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and beyond.
Over the last few years Cheeba has shared stages with and supported acts such as: Mos Def, Mixmaster Mike, Coldcut, Red Snapper, Dead Prez, DJ Yoda, Roots manuva, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Bays, Ghostface Killah, Cut Chemist, Kid Koala, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Hexstatic, Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Krush, Bomb The Bass, DJ Kentaro, DJ Food & DK, J-Rocc, Anti Pop Consortium, Alice Russell, Questlove, Guru, DJ Vadim, Bonobo and many more.
Cheeba's first video mixtape 'The Reels of Solid Steel' released in 2010, was widely received as a revolutionary step in mixtape production and helped to launch Solid Steel as the home of the worlds best audio visual mixes. In 2011, the much anticipated follow up 'Revenge of The Nerd' quickly gained over 60,000 downloads in the week following its launch and its huge variety of source material and highly detailed style secured Cheeba his place at the forefront of the scene alongside pioneers such as Hexstatic, DJ Yoda and Coldcut.
At the end of 2011, Cheeba returned with the release of 'DJ Cheeba: Live'. His latest AV adventure aimed to give a better impression of the live experience by adding footage from an epic show at London's famous venue The Roundhouse alongside creative green screen studio sessions which placed him "inside" the videos. Once more, it was met with wide spread acclaim and rapidly reached number 1 in the iTunes music video podcast charts.
Drawing on his turntablist history and lifelong love of cut and paste music, audiences can expect a seamless adventure through styles made to make you dance, think and smile. Cheeba is more than a DJ, he's a live experience not to be missed... Your eyes wont believe your ears!

The Junkyard Scientists playing live - Junkyard have supported acts such as Ash, EZ Rollers, Portico Quartet, Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly, the James Taylor Quartet and the Cuban Brothers, and have headlined major London venues such as the Camden Jazz Café. The band are part of London's top music collective Raison d'être. Junkyard have performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Electric Picnic, Glade, Green Man and Beach Break Live, and have toured with the Chai Wallah festival stage. In 2011 they were the first band to ever record at the Cowshed studio at Glastonbury: a recording studio created on the festival site. The band performed seven shows at Glastonbury 2011.
Formed by a varied collective of musicians, the Junkyard sound is a fusion of a wide range of genres, through electro, acid jazz, funk, soul, rock, jazz and pop.
