  • BERLIN is Nashville's first techno & minimal monthly (taking place the first Saturdays of each month), and one of the only events of its kind in the Southeast. At it's premiere on December 1st, residents Oliver Dodd, DJ Woody, John Napier, Pete Kay, and Shawn Egan dropped techno fare for a hungry Nashville crowd. This month, BERLIN hopes to take the party to the next level, welcoming its first guests. Habersham (Lobotomy Records, Atlanta) has achieved more in a handful of years than most hope to achieve in a lifetime. He's played in over 20 cities around the globe, he has over 30 releases under his belt on such labels as Audio Therapy, Global Underground, Proton, and his own Blueprint & Lobotomy imprints, and his music has been featured on some of the world's most prestigious compilations including Renaissance, Global Underground, Bedrock Breaks, Distinctive's Y4K, and Balance. Now he's getting his hands dirty with technology – filthy dirty. He's not only creating music that tears down boundaries, but he's dabbling with creating original visual and other sensory stimulation. Habersham is shedding the limitations of turntables and CDJs and moving toward a completely unique live performance which incorporates various media forms into a live show. Some listeners have described his music as subtle, twisted underground music. Some say it's a bit too 'weird.' Others cannot even find the words to describe his taste, and this is what makes him most proud. Perhaps the greatest of compliments is when an artist cannot be labeled or boxed in, which explains why Damian Lazarus, James Holden, Pig & Dan, Phil K, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Dave Seaman, Nic Fanciulli, Ozgur Can and even Slam give heavy rotation to his selections. He'll be venturing to Nashville to add another city to his list, and he'll be giving BERLIN a very special set in the process. He'll have support from the BERLIN crew and Richard Evans (Diagnostik Music, Atlanta). This party is 18+, and the doors open at 11 pm. Admission is $7, $5 reduced admission for those who signup by emailing their names for the guestlist at [email protected].
