What would you do if you had a flux capacitor? Would you see the dinosaurs? Watch the Egyptians build the pyramids? See Gladiators in ancient Rome? See the future? Or if Cockstock’s absence in 2011 was too much to bear you could go back and relive 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 whenever you felt like it (a bit like our Facebook page but in 3D).
The 15th September 2012 is a fixed point in time and our trajectory along the fourth dimension is set directly towards it. Cockstock 2012 - The Time Machine will be the 5th instalment of this eclectic festival bringing you acts and performers that will represent the past, present and future.
Think of Dr Sam Beckett taking a Quantum Leap into Marty McFly who drives the Delorian into HG Wells causing a monumental pile up with the TARDIS which in turn blows all of time and space open leading to the infinite array of possibilities we know your imaginations contain. This kind of inter dimensional incident is clearly too spectacular for everyday life so we have restricted things to The Hoxton Docks, a new warehouse location on the canal, and we would ask (although not insist) that you use the medium of fancy dress rather than extremely complicated physics to follow our theme.
Unfortunately unless you have actually mastered time travel yourself, then turning up late in the day will mean you will miss out quite a lot. The bands and DJs will start at 1pm and since this festival has such a strong affiliation with love, you will need to give yourself plenty of time to meet your fellow time travellers before the pheromone levels rise beyond the safety threshold.
Expect more of the best and strangest underground acts (line up at the top of the page) to vibrate air molecules into your ears and fire electromagnetic waves into your eyes in such a way that only those truly consumed by darkness would not be moved. DJ talent this year have collectively been releasing on labels such as WOLF+LAMB, 2020 Vision, Hot Waves, Nurvous and Baker street.
So all that is left to say is that we look forward to seeing you on 15.9.12 which, confusingly, might be the future, the past or right now…
