4our events is delighted to announce the premiere Sydney performance of DJ/producer/label owner and Panorama Bar's first lady, Steffi, direct from Berlin. This keenly anticipated evening will take place in GoodGod Small Club's Danceteria on Saturday September 1st.
Highly regarded for her ability and intuition behind the decks, Steffi's diverse yet focused sets range across everything from original disco, proper electro and warm analogue house right through to raw late-night techno. In short, we won’t know what to expect on the night – except considered quality from start to finish and a burning dance floor. Steffi will be supported by 4our residents Trinity and Magda Bytnerowicz, and assisted by one of Sydney's finest sound engineers to keep an ear on the refreshed Nexo stacks.
Prior to moving to Berlin from her native Amsterdam, Steffi played and promoted underground parties for over a decade, and founded the first of her labels – Klakson – alongside counterpart Dexter. After securing her residency at Berlin's Panorama Bar in 2007 she forged a growing a relationship with the club's label, Ostgut Ton, which culminated in the release of her debut long player "Yours & Mine" in early 2011. The album firmly established her as a deft hand at song writing and production, balancing 90s-influenced house grooves, like the unmistakable "Yours" featuring Virginia, with darker, hypnotic warehouse jams like "Nightspacer". She also founded her second label, Dolly, which has seen releases from the likes of Basic Soul Unit, XDB and Brooks Mosher as well as remixes from contemporary techno luminaries Marcel Fengler and Shed.
Steffi also collaborated with Restoration Records as Third Side alongside Lucretio and Marieu, offering up several raw, jacking EPs, as well as recently completing a full-length release. Branching out on US label Underground Quality, Steffi featured Virginia's wonderful vocals again on her smooth night-driving "Reasons" EP.
Steffi's DJ sets and productions explore the many facets of her love affair with house music, as you will hear when she mans the 4our Rane rotary in the intimate surrounds of the Danceteria.
