He has been involved in its development since its early years and has produced tracks with the likes of Skream, Benga, Pinch and Cyrus. With a background of heavy metal and experimental industrial music, his approach to dubstep is truly different to any others. Whilst many producers reference influences such as King Tubby to Lee Scratch Perry, Distance main influence hails from the likes of Sepultura, Pantera and Fear Factory. Distance as producer, DJ and label owner (Chestplate Records), has been pushing things in a direction all of his own. Gathering early support from the legendary John Peel and going on to be part of the utterly seminal Dubstep Warz show on Radio 1 presented by Mary Anne Hobbs, Distance has forged a name for himself as a critical figure in the scene. Distance is a regular at the seminal raves such as FWD, DMZ, Exodus, SUB: DUB and more. His Dj bookings have taken him across the globe where he devastates dance floors and sound systems in his own unimitable style. Distance's recorded output is also formidable, finding homes on labels as underground and seminal as Hotflush, Tectonic and Boka in his early career, to ending up on the world reputed Planet Mu, on which Distance released his debut album in 2007. Distance's studio has spawned multiple stone cold killers over a range of styles but all uniquely Distance, highlighting why his new releases are some of the most highly anticipated in the scene. If you’re a fan of heavy metal, industrial rock, dub, reggae and techno….then this is the sound for you. Though hard to relate these binary opposite genres together, somehow...Distance does just that. *************************************************************** Tunnidge: http://soundcloud.com/tunnidge http://www.facebook.com/TunnidgeDubstep Deep Medi, Chestplate, Tectonic, Get darker and Origin Audio is a release catalogue that few can Dubstep producers can boast. Tunnidge has been producing and releasing Dubstep from the fledgling days of the scene. His first introduction to the scene was via the support of DMZ member and Dubstep pioneer Mala who championed his music on his acclaimed label Deep Medi. Later he was quickly adopted to Distances Chestplate camp being the first ever artist apart from Distance himself to release on this ever-growing label. Monstrous releases such as Geddeon, 7Breaths, Dark Skies, Control and the remix of Truths Puppet Master have affirmed his ability to create heavy weight dance floor smashers in juxtaposition to the more deeper experimental tracks such as Tribe, Decay and Universal which was released by the legendary Tectonic imprint. As well as the music production and DJing Tunnidge also keeps himself busy with the portrait designs of the Deep Medi label. With exhibitions of his work appearing in London, Greece and New York, his distinct artwork style has become synonymous with the brand of the Deep Medi label. As a DJ Tunnidge hits hard, selecting the dark dance floor style music he is known for producing. Headlining all over the world and frequent visits to the U.S his accolades include playing the top events, festivals and Radio shows of the Dubstep world, DMZ, Deep Medi, Fabric, Outlook Festival, Get Darker events, FWD, Gritsy, SubMission, Oi!, Get Darker TV, Kiss FM, Rinse FM and now along with the other Chestplae family a bi monthly slot on BBC Radio 1xtras Mista Jams Dubstep show. Armed with a cache of heavy weight Dubs, forthcoming releases on the biggest Dubstep labels and bookings for the biggest events, the future looks bright for Tunnidge. *************************************************************** District: http://soundcloud.com/district http://www.facebook.com/DistrictChestplate District has been something of a revelation in the last 18 months, a whirlwind period that has seen him develop into one of the most in demand producers within the deep Dubstep community. Having spent a couple of years carefully refining his production techniques, Dan got in touch with DJ Distance and along with his fellow Coventry producer and collaborator Sleeper, they quickly saw their thunderous sub-heavy rollers regularly included in Chestplate label head's live and radio sets. Harnessing the relentless club-shaking low frequencies, twisted reece bassline architecture and explosive energy of his signature sound, District has seen his profile grow at a staggering rate with guest appearances on the world famous Rinse.FM, GetDarker and MistaJam’s 1xtra broadcast, and his tracks finding their way into every major DJ’s record bag from the irrepressible DJ Youngsta, to scene legends Skream and Benga on their Radio 1 show. His debut 12” in 2011 featured two premium examples of District’s talent on the buttons, Haymaker and 3.5 grams, and was released by Distance on his mighty Chestplate Records imprint, to be followed up in early 2012 with the widely acclaimed bass savagery of the Terraformed EP with Sleeper. Both records are vital additions to a seminal back catalogue bristling with classics, and have fuelled excitement for future instalments of Dan’s dark creative vision. Evolution and progression are the hallmarks of any leading producer, and something District takes seriously as he continues to contort his menacing nuerofunk influenced track aesthetics over varying styles and rhythmical structures. His bookings have increased exponentially, with a busy DJ schedule delivering sets packed with exclusives at events and festivals all over Europe, and it looks to be another dominant year for District and the Chestplate collective. *************************************************************** Chestplate Records: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chestplate/267307096647968 *************************************************************** TRAP CITY: http://www.facebook.com/TRAPCITYSF *************************************************************** In 2012, Mighty was voted as having the 4th best sound system in San Francisco, by SF Weekly. They say: "The story of Mighty's sound system begins in New York, with a man named Richard Long. Considered by many to be one of the most influential figures in club sound system design, his installations provided the sound at such venues as the Paradise Garage, Studio 54, and the Warehouse. Head to Mighty and a little bit of that history can be heard, as its system was designed by Long as well (with pieces taken directly from the Paradise Garage and a club called The Hippo in Baltimore). With speaker stacks standing tall like four monoliths, listening to music at Mighty is a visceral experience, with crisp highs and a deep bass that comes up through the floor to punch you in the chest. And while that might sound unpleasant, for old school disco and house, there could hardly be a better system in the city." *************************************************************** There will also be a Bounce House and Ball Pit!!! This bounce house and ball pit will be on the front sidewalk. There must be a waiver signed by each individual to enter. No more than 4 people at a time. Shoes must be off. No cigarettes or drinks allowed in the bounce house or ball pit. There will be security making sure no one is abusing the privilege. If you tag on the bounce house/ball pit, or damage it intentionally, we will press charges and you will be responsible for the damages. If you are clearly too intoxicated, we are not letting you inside the bounce house/ball pit.
