// Dave Clarke
A true musical pioneer dubbed "the baron of techno" by the late John Peel, Dave Clarke has always mined the edges of the mainstream for his explorations into dance music. The one-time hip hop and soul DJ began djing in his hometown of Brighton and by 1994 had sealed his reputation with his groundbreaking series of EPs entitled "Red". His debut album "Archive 1" followed, flecked with hints of breakbeat and electronica, a novelty in the puritanical techno scene of the time. His mix CDs included the two best-selling "World Service" outings (one of which made it into the top ten of best mix compilations of the 00's in Resident Advisor) which showcased his dual love for electro and techno, and he briefly signed to Skint Records, resulting in 2004’s "Devils Advocate" album, a long-player jammed with dark techno energy but laced with hip hop beats. When his production pace ebbed Music Man Records gathered together "Remixes And Rareties" in 2007, making Album Of The Month in Mixmag and receiving critical plaudits all over. His "White Noise" record label is responsible for experimental outputs from Frank Kusserov, Noirdegout, Woody McBride, Marco Bernadi, Terence Fixmer and The Hacker. More recently, in October 2011, Dave Clarke contributed to the honourable Fabric mix series, alluringly showcasing his roots in Electro as well as his signature strands of techno. As a dj, few can match Clarke's technical ability, musical sensibility and willingness to push boundaries.

Born in Reading and raised in Horley, Slater's early sound dalliances with his father's reel to reel tape recorder and his drumming stints led to work in local record shops and by 1988 Slater was immersed in the embryonic acid house scene, djing in London's Heaven nightclub. By the early 90s Luke Slater found himself at the forefront of UK electronic music with a string of brilliant releases under a number of guises including Clementine, 7th Plain and Planetary Assault Systems. He signed to Novamute in 1997 and the following year saw the release of his ground breaking album "Freek Funk", the follow up "Wireless" was released in 1999 and took Slater far beyond the confines of the techno scene. Since then Slater has recorded for the likes of Ostgut Ton, Peacefrog and his own label Mote-Evolver. Slater has released a mix for the Fabric DJ-mix series, and has reinvented innumerable tracks in remixes from artists such as Depeche Mode and Ken Ishii to more recent remixes for Radial and Soul Designer.
