Following on from summer's revered 'Detroit Series', which saw legendary Motor City techno pioneers The Belleville Three return to the capital to play alongside contemporary protégés such as Boddika, Factory Floor and Waifs & Strays, dollop set their sights on grander things in 2013 by capping off their most successful year yet with a suitably enormous New Year's Eve blow-out. If the first act confirmed is enough to go by, it's going to be one hell of a celebration.

Oneman is regarded as one of the UK’s foremost DJs, and is the embodiment of the current bass music scene with his trademark quickfire mix of House, Garage, Dubstep & Techno. As much as his sets under the Oneman moniker may have started turning heads by melding old school UK garage with DMZ style dubstep, he’s proven through his DJ sets and his regular presence on London institution Rinse FM that he can do so much more than just marry classics with current beats. Whether through his famed hip hop & R&B sets for The Boiler Room, the now legendary back to back sets with Jackmaster or opening for dance titans such as SBTRKT and Major Lazer, Oneman has that rare ability to destroy any party and leave you in no doubt who it was you’ve been listening to.

Since early 2010, Krystal Klear has recorded an exclusive mix for the now defunct (but forever infamous) Mary Anne Hobbs BBC Radio 1 show, been chosen as a resident for the successful Hoya:Hoya club night in Manchester, toured the U.S.A (stopping off at Dam Funk’s ‘Funkmosphere night) and garnered love from XLR8R, Mixmag and Dazed & Confused. Brodinski, FACT Mag and Juno have all named him ‘One to watch in 2011′ and recent shows in Hamburg, Amsterdam and London have garnered hype from the European audience.

You could describe Deadboy’s music as heartache for the dancefloor. Tapping into London’s rich musical heritage from Scott Walker to early 90’s Hardcore all the way through to UK Garage and House, Deadboy’s tracks somehow still share the same sense of futuristic melancholia as the first wave of Detroit Techno by the likes of Derrick May and Juan Atkins.

Florence To develops visual installations focusing on portable designs to allow these structures to fit within diverse spaces. The visuals are performed live to generate a rhythm in the environment, creating a movement that works with the surrounding sound.

Despite the multitude of live music spaces dotted around the capital, few can lay claim to such a varied and impressive history as The Troxy, situated just East of the City. The Troxy has seen a wide array of uses since its inception in 1933 as one of George Coles' grand cinemas, which was at the time the largest in the entire country: it has run the gamut from glamourous film screenings to an opera house, a Mecca bingo hall and now, in the present day, a host venue for special one-off shows. Recent years have seen the likes of New Order, Bonobo, Pixies and soon to be Flying Lotus all utilising the venue. On December 31st dollop will be joining their ranks as they throw their inaugural London New Year's Eve party at The Troxy.
With a vast space and the original art-deco interior still intact, as well as a fully retooled PA system that makes use of the excellent acoustic design, not to mention five bars, The Troxy makes a welcome change from more commonplace venues, serving as a truly unique location in which to see 2012 out. With headliner Julio Bashmore the sole announced so far, but plenty more heavy-hitters to come, it makes perfect sense for dollop to join that rich lineage, investing in a timeless venue as it looks to move forward into the new year.
