Asylum, System & Louche present Circo Loco

  • The Circo Loco wagon rolls into town this October, descending on Mint Warehouse fresh from another show stopping season on the White Isle. With the inimitable house music legend that is Kerri Chandler, Visionquest's Shaun Reeves and Circo Loco regulars System of Survival and Clive Henry on the bill, this one is absolutely essential. The beginnings of Circo Loco at DC10 back in Ibiza 1999 could hardly be more humble. At a virtually unknown location, the iconic Monday morning session started a clubbing revolution that made an enduring impact on the shape of modern club culture. Since then, the ubiquitous Crazy Clown face has travelled around the world as a beacon of the party ethos of Circo Loco, becoming a symbol for the underground spirit of dance music culture. Tonight sees the famous brand land in Leeds for a real show-stopper. Legend, icon, inspiration, key figure, and a true house music purveyor, Kerri Chandler has been injecting soul into music since the early 90s, making him one of house music’s originators. Remaining totally loyal to the underground movement he has produced contemporary classics like Bar-a-Thym and Back To The Raw and is the owner of labels Max Trax, Grei Matter, Lost Tribes of Ibadan and most recently Mad Tech Records, responsible for some of 2012's biggest bombs. As a DJ Kerri injects spirit and soul into the dance floor like no other, wowing audiences around the globe wherever he travels. Next up Shaun Reeves, one of the Visionquest Collective's head honchos who has had an intimate relationship with Circo Loco and DC 10 this year. Transforming the club into a one off psychedelic wonderland and programming the music from start to finish the Visionquest team took DC 10 by storm this summer, as well as playing regularly at Monday's Circo Loco parties. Shaun's skills as a DJ are second to none, perhaps the most technical of the Visionquest crew, with a natural aptitude for tripped out house and techno. Support comes in the shape of two acts. One of the UKs longest standing flag wavers for House Music Clive Henry, ex member of Peace Division and part of the infamous Crosstown Rebels family supports, along with Ibiza duo System of Survival, who have released an excellent EP on Bpitch Control this year. Both have been Circo Loco residents since almost the beginnings, and are sure to provide ample support in Mint Warehouse's booming main room.
