Conceived in the creative milieu that was Chicago in the mid-nineties, Nathan Drew Larsen represents the cumulative sound of the city’s future and past. Since the early 2000’s he has earned a reputation via his original productions and remixes on labels such as NRK, 20:20 Vision, Renaissance, Global Underground, Airtight and Cyclo. Nathan also oversees his own labels “Fresh Meat,” run with long time production partner Mazi from Audio Soul Project; “FM Loves,” a vinyl-only disco edit label with DJ Samone Roberts; and his newest vinyl-only imprint, the “Prairie Path Recording Co.” Drawing from a wide range of influences and his own immersion in Chicago’s House and Industrial scenes, Nathan Drew Larsen has fostered a creative resolve that continues to yield production at the forefront of the machine-music renaissance. His release on Gourmet Recordings, "Standing Still," featuring the vocals of Black Pearl, is considered a Chicago house classic.
Nathan promotes an eclectic roots style of deejaying developed through years of experience. He is a resident guest of one of the longest running house nights in Chicago, Justin Long's all-vinyl "Dotbleep" party at the world renowned Smart Bar, and "Changes," one of the best new roots dance parties in town.
Nathan plays live with Mazi's Audio Soul Project and records and djs with Chicago's Samone Roberts as Restless Natives. His next vinyl only single featuring a remix by Tevo Howard is set for release on the Prairie Path Recording Co. Life and Death will re-release "Standing Still" this winter, with a remix from Tale Of Us.
