FACT NYE 2013 at PALAU DE CONGRESOS DE CATALUNYA
The 31st December: one night, too many options – so let's break it down, break it down so that you can get down at what promises to be the best party...in town (excuse the accidental rhyme). On this fateful night, FACT will be hosting the infamous New Year's Eve Special where you can coax in the new year whilst treating both your ears and your feet to the biggest DJs around. I say “biggest DJs”, because I mean THE BIGGEST DJS. With Resident Advisor's recent release of their 2012 Top DJ poll, Seth Troxler was announced the people's choice as no.1 and Maceo Plex as no.4, and we have them both! So if you're a person and you want to celebrate in a BIG way, get FACT's NYE special event on the agenda. It's a no brainer.
Having played all around the world to millions of people, this is your chance to witness firsthand the superior skills of Troxler and Plex as they work the decks for you. Intertwining their individual projects, the two have worked closely together releasing tracks on both Troxler's record label Visionquest, and Plex's, Ellum. Visionquest, launched with Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves, and Lee Curtiss, was first founded in Detroit in 2010 and Ellum was manifested just one year later. In this hotbox of creative genius you can also find the prolific labels of Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations.
The guys from Visionquest grew up hosting parties, playing at parties, and generally partying at parties, and Plex, amongst the partying, has managed to release a full length album; I think it's safe to say that these guys know what they're doing.
As well as these notable names, the party will host our residents: DJ Herr, Dokser, Andre Buljat, and Jordi Angulo; with all of this, your musical needs are sure to be satisfied! However, in true FACT style, there will be more than just music. For those of you missing your friends who have passed through Barcelona and moved on, as so many do, or perhaps you are away from home, we will be screening a live countdown to midnight from countries all over the world so that you can feel that little bit closer to them in this memorable moment...or, depending on your Champagne consumption, not so memorable as the case often is.
