The first festival of its kind in South Africa, CTWMF is for all fans of music – especially those who love the World Music genre. Encompassing traditional and roots music, world, dance and modern world adaptations, the festival will cater to all lovers of live music.
The festival centres in the city’s Fringe area with four stages, including two inside The Assembly, The Nu World and Silent Revolution Stages, while outside, the Beanstalk Stage, and free Lion’s Head stage host an array of top local and international talent.
The Nu World stage runs on both Friday and Saturday from 9pm till late, taking over as the outside stages shut down with the best of world dance music including, Bateleur, DJ Might, Ntone Edjabe, Toby2shoes, Christian Tiger School, Kimon, DJ Invizable Feat. Computer General & The Season Marimba Stars and Jakobsnake.
The Silent Revolution stage, in operation from 2-9pm on Saturday, offers a diverse mix of styles and genres including Mantras4ModernMan, Madosini and Derek Gripper, Tango Ensemble, All In One (Steve Newman, Hilton Schilder, Errol Dyers) and Babu.
