Electro-acoustic alchemist David Edwards has been confounding us with his melodies since his ‘Chiff-Chaffs and Willow Warblers’ LP of 2001. After second album ‘Maritime’ nailed his nom-de-plume as Minotaur Shock on 4AD he’s now back with ‘Orchard’, a delicious stroll around the edges of dance music with an indie tango as a dance partner. Expect deeply infectious melody and riveting rhythms that recall the more recent successes of Four Tet, Caribou, ISAN or Mum.
