In a city where competition for promoters and party brands is fierce, Bad Apple have been able to separate themselves through creative use of location and, similar to Jaunt, focusing on giving quality DJ’s space to play long sets. Recent guests have included Hot Since ’82, Solomun, Huxley and Shaun Reeves. The Bad Apple boat party is shaping up to have similar heavyweight vibes.
Midland has quietly established himself as an essential figure in the post-dubstep/future-garage/bass-house kaleidoscope of UK music. Auspicious beginnings in releasing on Aus Music with Ramadanman have meant Midland stepped straight in at the top, and his careful choice of imprints since has inspired a sense of reliability and quality: Phonica, PMR, NakedNaked, Werk Discs. His inspired reshape of Dusky’s “Resin” finds itself as this writer’s remix of 2012. Joining him is Lovebirds,the German house veteran responsible for the delectable modern classic "Want You In My Soul". With thirteen years of releases under his belt for labels such as Defected and Liebe Detail, revellers can expect an education in classic 4 x 4 sound design.
