Micron have been throwing parties at Manchester institution Joshua Brooks since 2006, reacting to the sterility they perceived in house music at the time. Between then and now, both the night and the music have expanded, allowing them to host dignitaries such as Âme, Redshape and Matthias Tanzmann. In keeping with Manchester’s notable and esteemed musical heritage, Micron go out of their way to curate a boat party strictly for the heads.
Tom Demac will bring his live show to the Micron boat party. Tom has recently procured massive acclaim for his exceptional “Critical Distance pt2” (Hypercolour), which is a fitting reward for the nocturnal producer, who also has releases on Glass Table and My Favourite Robot. Recent “Obstructing The Light” EP (Hypercolour) has served to emphasise Tom’s flexibility as a performer, producing a mixture of sultry and bass-led house cuts that contrast nicely with the schizophrenic, cathartic nature of “Critical Distance pt2”. Joining Tom is Ben Pearce, who has “done a Bashmore” by dropping the smoky “What I Might Do” (MTA) to enormous acclaim from all musical circles. As a Manchester native, it seems only fitting for him to represent the Micron family on the Adriatic. His stellar 2012 stands him in good stead for the new year.
