Huntleys & Palmers - 2013: Sophie, Roxymore, Alis, The Draughtsman

  • Moving into another year of parties and releases, we'd like to draw your attention to some emerging new talent well worth the watching over the forthcoming 12 months. Those of you who've been to any of our parties over the past year will have undoubtedly heard SOPHIE's NOTHING MORE TO SAY, which is finally released on the H&P label at the end of January. He counts the likes of Jackmaster, Actress, Kode 9, Jimmy Edgar and Skream amongst his fans and once you've caught his thrilling live show, you'll see why. Beyond her collaboration work with The Knife and PLANNINGTOROCK, we didn't know too much about rRoxymore when she played at our birthday party in December, but her live set was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the night and we can't wait to have her back. Alis is a new project from Italo-Bulgarian Londoner, Sabina Plamenova (formerly Subeena), whose new pseudonym reflects a more personal and vocal-lead endeavour with her next release due to drop on the reliable Don't Be Afraid label. Alex Egan is one of London's best kept secrets. Having honed is craft as one half of Skull Juice, he's always delivered the goods with his production projects and the recent output as 'The Draughtsman' is no different. Watch out for his astounding release on How The Other Half Lives. H&P's Andrew will be on hand to open the proceedings. Join us.
