Now, once a year . . . something very special happens in the De:Bug calendar. A carefully selected group of musical creative’s are assembled, to curate a party celebrating the Birth of De:Bug. To throw a party with no pretence, and no agenda, other than to show how proud we are, having such a great vibrant scene now in our home city of Sheffield. The only gift on this date comes from us, in the form a party. A big mother-fucking throw down for all our friends, De:Bug regulars, and guests from a far.
Last year this took the shape of Laura Jones and the God Like Dyed Soundorom. The best memory of that night easily being Dyed swinging his arms above his head, singing ‘SHEFFEEEEEEEL’ sticking his tongue out at the bouncers when they tried to close the party down. Encompassing everything that De:Bug is about.
A Year is going to pass once more, and we have done everything we can, to make this one fucking party to remember! Steve, Reece, Steve, Jordan and Sean invite you to join . . .
The Martinez Brothers (Circo Loco//DC10) –
The Boys from the Bronx are hitting the STEEL CITY! Two of the youngest heroes in Today’s scene are a coming, yo! These guys radiate such positive energy and incredible house music. Growing up in a universe of latin and salsa influenced music and rhythm, has moulded TMB’s into the artists they are today. This is their musical DNA and has become ubiquitous in their own take on modern house music. Latin rhythmic layers weaving on top of an ass clapping Bronx bass, is the general make up of their vibe. They are coming to literally lock into, control the crowd, and level the Fuck out of De:Bug. Expect an endless headlining set from the boys!
Dan Ghenacia (Appolonia//DC10) –
Dan’s musical cosmos began in the mid 90’s. Living out in San Fran at the time, Dan was soaking up as much US house as he could. This was such a fresh vibrant scene compared to what he had been used to in Paris. When Dan returned to The French capital he took it upon himself to inject the Parisian house scene becoming a self proclaimed ‘Vinyl Dealer’ bringing boxes of vinyl back from more trips to the U.S. Dan’s own House Imprint ‘Freak N Chic’ then followed. Breaking artists such as Jamie Jones, giving him his first ever release, amongst other credible artists you may have heard of, Shonky and Dyed Soundorom. Dan’s friendship with Shonky and Dyed, and their unrivalled passion for House music augmented vertically, and has culminated in the new label/movement that is Apollonia. The world is at Dan’s feet, and we cannot wait for him to bring some of his 10 year DC10 residency to De:Bug. WERD!
Crazy P (2020 Vision) –
15 years in the making and aging like a fine wine! Spreading love, spreading happiness with their genre spanning take on house, disco, nu-disco. . . There is no name for the amazing music these guys make! In fact music full of SOUL! There I did it!!! The crazies are a favourite of so many DJ’s and artists, and well respected amongst all their peers. They some how manage to keep their vibe underground even after signing to Ralph Lawsons, monsterous 2020 Vision records almost 5 years ago. Prepare yourselves for the happiest, most energetic blend of soul/nu-disco/house/brokenbeat/Disco you will ever witness. FACT!
WOLF MUSIC –
You know, 2012 was a fantastic year for UK house music. When these boys come runner up to Hypercolour, in the annual DJ Mag awards, you can be pretty fucking proud of your scene. We welcome the lynch pins of the whole outfit, MATT NEALE & STU CLARK. These guys have literally been playing seek and destroy throughout the whole of 2012. Giving a platform/launchpad to artists such as Medlar, Session Victim, Waze & Odyssey, Casino Times, Bicep and the Extended Wolf Pack – KRL and Greymatter. With label showcases lined up at the likes of Fabric London, and the return to festivals such as Tisno’s Garden festival in the Diary already for 2013 . . . another fucking massive 12 months is on the cards for the WOLF PACK. Fuck Twilight . . . . . THE REAL WOLVES ARE COMING!
