Electro swing is “the sounds and styles of the 1920s and 30s, turned on their head and smuggled into the 21st century.”
Already massive in mainland Europe and slowly working its infectious fun around the UK, electro swing takes the irresistible toe-tapping sounds of the 20s and 30s, sticks them in a new outfit and kicks them out into modern day club culture where ‘prohibition’ has become ‘NOhibition.’
And now it’s Manchester’s turn...

(It's with an 'odge') A man who has had nothing but music on the brain since birth, this musician, producer and DJ has been causing a not-so-quiet sensation in the murky underworld of music blogging over the last year, and the excitement is spreading into actual real-life-in-the-world.
A jazzer at heart, his uproarious DJ sets have been given a welcome home at Electro Swing nights across Europe. Here is an Electro Swing producer from Leeds who is unapologetic about his mission to produce uplifting feel good party music.
Bouncing firmly in the electro-swing camp, Jamie Berry has lived up to the genre’s ideals of fusing house beats to old swing, jazz and big band music, with several successful releases on Flak including ‘Out of My Mind’ and ‘Delight’ and performing at some of the world’s best Electro Swing parties.
Jamie Berry is recognised for his shuffling modern beats nestled with vintage swing sounds, before leading way to some heavier wobble bass kicks to push things up a gear or two.
