  • An evening of relentless rhythmic cycles, intricate, shadowy sounds and hypnotic visuals from London-based electronic duo Raime, in the atmospheric surroundings of LSO St Luke’s – a deconsecrated 18th-century church. This special audiovisual show is Raime's first London appearance since the release of their debut album Quarter Turns Over A Living Line – a record which weaves together disparate skeins of sound; atomised elements of industrial music are suspended alongside spare vestiges of jungle's rhythmic dynamism, together with hints of doom metal, techno, modern composition and dub. The visual element of the set, shot by Dakus Films in collaboration with Raime, features Portuguese dancer Romeu Runa. The video was shot in super slow motion in an enormous disused ironworks factory on the outskirts of Lisbon and then edited for the arresting film that unfurls behind the duo as they perform. ‘Its pleasures are those of the violent hollowing out of dancefloor forms, of the exhaustion that waits at the end of the night … they've made something deeply essential for the moment’ The Wire ‘It's dark and it's challenging, but that's precisely why it works’ Guardian
