In what has become something of an unofficial tradition, Cocoon’s head honcho Sven Vath is set to once again unleash his universally recognized brand of techno on The Metro Theatre on the eve of the Sydney Future Music Festival.
Now taking place for its 4th consecutive year this festival pre-party will see Sven bringing all the magic of his Cocoon Heroes brand as well as delivering an extended set, satisfying even his biggest fans thirst for the underground.
Not one to hog all the limelight he has enlisted a couple of his favourite Cocoon Heroes to play alongside him in the main room. Featuring Ricardo Villalobos alongside Resident Advisors newly crowned Number 1 DJ, Seth Troxler, lineups don’t get much more impressive than this!
For lovers of the underground, this bill will be a heaving hot sweaty heaven. Don’t miss it!
Sven Vath:
The Frankfurt DJ/Producer has an uncanny understanding for club culture, uniting traditionalists and purists with the fresh-faced teens. Founder of ‘Cocoon’ – artist booking, event agency and record label – Väth is leaving his mark well beyond that pivotal booth. The one he knows oh so well. After another successful Ibiza season Cocoon Heroes are visiting Australia for the very first time and will stage a very special “Into the Magic” Australia edition.
Ricardo Villalobos:
After his first trip to Ibiza in 1995, Ricardo adopted the island as a third home. He played at a Cocoon event at Amnesia in 1999 and joined the Cocoon booking agency later that year. Today there isn’t a continent where Ricardo hasn’t played; his choice of music is trend-setting for other Djs and fans alike, and even though his tracks are never commercial, they are immensely successful and he’s well known even beyond the borders of the underground music scene.
Seth Troxler:
When a bevy of House tunes are inbred into your bloodstream from the age of seven, the term ‘growing up surrounded by music’ takes on a whole new meaning. This is the story of US borne, London based Seth Troxler – a gift from Detroit Techno demigods. His resume reads every international major festival, residencies at every international major hotspot and charting on every international major, ummm, chart.
