2013 sees Funf Touring expand into events, providing parties at unique venues across Australia. A colloboration of various crews and promoters with nearly 10 years in the game - from brands such as electric owl to Capacity and many more. We aim to provide not only intimate club shows, but we will also seek to utilize unique spaces as well as larger scale clubs...
Our first event will see the Australian debut of Smallpeople on March 16 (boat cruise), followed by Cosmin TRG, Jimpster, Daniel Bell, Oxia, Axel Boman, ATA, Wbeeza with many more to follow.. Our aim is to provide quality over quantity of both international and local artists. Additionally the selection of venues is equally important, and our aim is to always reflect the very ethos of what Funf stands for - dynamic, discerning, and loose without being pretentious.
We are over the moon to invite our very good friends at Stable Music to join us for the evening; a crew who share the same values as us demonstrated through the various projects we have collaborated on together over the past decade. Stable has brought some of the most forward thinking direction in sound and sonic development to our shores. For Stable there is neither inside or outside the box, Music is Music and it's as simple as that. Think technology meets the milky-way, and all that's in between.
We are extremely excited to announce the return of the wizard - JEFF MILLS [USA] for his first club show on Australian soil in almost 10 years. Having only played large scale festivals in recent times this tour has been many years in the making and we are very happy to announce Jeff will be playing an extended set of 3 hours at The Bottom End Nighclub presented by funf social and Stable Music.
Jeff Mills is considered one of the most brilliant DJ and producers of techno in the World. He is the most recognised representative figure of the Detroit Techno, where he began his career as a DJ on the WDRQ radio in 1984. He has created with "Mad Mike Banks" the collective "Underground Resistance", which became a reference in the electro sphere. In 1992, Jeff Mills created his own label "Axis", he could keep his artistic independence and produce his own timeless electronic music compositions, inspired of science fiction. While he performs as DJ all over the world average 100 dates in a year, Jeff Mills' artistic career goes much further than techno music. For over a decade, he's been transcending disciplines with a large number of collaborations in contemporary art. Jeff Mills is involved in numerous projects at this time, and is forever evolving and recreating his individual artistic performances, within and beyond any given boundaries.
