  • East London based nu-disco label Nang Records celebrates their 100th release this March with a basement party at the Queen Of Hoxton. Expect an eclectic mix of deep nu-disco grooves, boogie, house, slinky soulful rock and everything in between. Free Nang goodie bags on entry, inducing CD's, Vinyl and stickers until stocks last. Get down early! Headlining we have the ever in demand Rayko from Madrid. His debut single on Nang made 'Disco Record Of The Month' in Mixmag', preluding his fantastic album that drops later this year on the label. Rayko has an impressive portfolio of releases under his belt and has an almost insatiable thirst for editing both classics and lost gems in his distinctive and infectious style. As a DJ, Rayko continues to wow audiences around the globe with his trademark sound. We're pumped to finally get him over for a UK show! Hiem is the collective force of Nick "Nico" Eastwood and David "Bozz" Boswell formed Hiem from the ashes of Sheffield collectives The All Seeing I and Venini. Their recent single on Nang, 'Dj Culture featuring Roots Manuva', has been getting support from Steve lamacq on BBC 6 Music. With releases on Eskimo and Crosstown Rebels under their belt expect, as The Guardian put it, 'a rum mix of lissom disco, acid northern observation á la John Cooper Clarke, brutal Sheff-tronics and glittering crystalline electro'. Sare Havlicek is a hero here at Nang towers. The producer and DJ has been with Nang for years and his releases have been successively brilliant, culminating in the creation of his album 'Escape Machine' last year on ther label. He's recently been involved in the production on the comeback album of 80's synthpop group Visage. His unique soulful style utilises his vast analogue synth collection; expect nothing but warm analogue grooves from this man. Our VERY SPECIAL guests for the night are Tennessee's Tim, Chad & Sherry, a 4-piece group fromed from members of Lambchop and Silver Jews over to play a radio session at BBC 6 Music and we just had to get them on the line-up! Our sister label Tirk Records release their self titled second album in March. It's an oddly compelling mix of slinky, raucous rock, feet-dragging dadaist grooves and uplifting melodious soul accentuated with electronics and subtle motorik drum machine rhythms. In describing their sound, the band says it best: "PSYCH DANCE. If Steely Dan, The Flaming Lips and R Kelly had a love child, you'd have Tim Chad and Sherry."
