***** ANDREW GRANT (usa) [CIRCOLOCO resident, ViVA MUSIC]
Andrew Grant is a man with a varied past and constantly evolving future. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, he started to DJ in 1988 spinning hip-hop at house parties and school dances. His musical tastes soon shifted after his first visit to the famed New York City club Twilo in the mid 90’s. After an evening under the Phazon sound system, he found himself immersed in more electronic based sounds.
Upon graduation from university he decided that a move abroad was needed to properly re-engage his musical passions. In early 2001 he spent a few months in Sheffield, England, throwing parties and DJing everywhere he could. As summer approached he decided to roll the dice and purchased a one-way ticket to Ibiza for a deeper look into the scene. Through hard work, and some lucky breaks, Andrew was invited to play Thursday morning after-hours at DC10. After just two sets he was invited to play a main 3-5 hour slot on Mondays after Cirillo, his mentor. At just 24 years old he became the first, and only, American resident of CircoLoco.
This summer will be Andrew’s tenth as a resident for CircoLoco’s infamous Monday parties at DC10. “I never thought I would travel the world with them after buying a one-way ticket that summer day ten years ago. CircoLoco has allowed me to grow as a DJ and hone my sound all over the world.”
Andrew started releasing his own works in 2001, and has seen his name on such labels as Plastic City, Unfoundsound, Siteholder Records, Isgud Records, Minisketch, and Barraca Music. However, his output has really grown in the past few years with releases on Barraca Music, Little Helpers, Connect Four & Hallucination Ltd. He has also collaborated with Lomez, Tale of Us, Los Updates & Ricardo Villalobos. His evolution in the studio created the opportunity to be offered the position as Label Head for Barraca.
Keeping with his DIY aesthetic, and his refusal to be stuck to one sound, Andrew started his own imprints in 2010, EDEC and Blau Motif. “I started the two labels because I see EDEC grasping a wider new range of Techno and Blau Motif is for future listening - outside the club. I really felt moved to do this so these amazing artists had a platform to get their works released.”
Now based in Valencia, Andrew continues his increased production schedule and looks forward to returning to the White Isle for yet another year with his most beloved residency. There is no shortage of current projects or upcoming endeavors for Andrew. His ethos of “hype and fashion is only superficial and does not last” continues on. With Andrew the utmost quality is what matters most, and he never settles for anything less.
***** DELTANO
Before he was even old enough to make the decision himself, a life in music was always likely to come to Deltano. Even before the Belgium based DJ and producer can even remember he was submerged in sound on a regular basis as his mother took him to the local radio station where she recorded her rock show each week. From then on, he spent any spare time chopping up tunes, making playlists, mixtapes and generally trying to impart his musical taste on anyone willing to listen.
Fast forward to now and the young music obsessive has come good: having been offered a slot at a small but illustrious club in Antwerp, Belgium at the age of 21, Deltano impressed so much he was given a weekly residency and the rest, as they say is history. In 2012 the man has played the likes of Café D’Anvers, Extrema Outdoor Festival and Tomorrowland in Belgium, whilst having also been booked to play places like Ushuaia in Ibiza and Westerunie in Amsterdam along side the much lauded likes of Luciano, Dubfire, Magda, Matthias Tanzmann and many more.
According to the man himself, the sets he lays down “tend to have a slightly darker twist in them. I like to build up things really slowly, take everything to a higher level and really enjoy playing long sets because they allow me to tell a better story.”
Inspired throughout his life by a wide array of music from hip-hop to Nirvana via Belgium house, it’s only natural that Deltano produces, too. His deep, part house part techno but basically genre-defiant productions come on labels like Rawthentic, Suara, Rockets & Ponies, Monique Musique and Aella Music, all the while getting support from big players in the scene like Nic Fanciulli, Karotte, Carlo Cox, Matthias Tanzmann, Timo Maas and many more. Basically this man creates what feels right for him, rather than following any trends of the day, both when producing and DJing. In truth, it always been this way; he has always needed an output for his creativity and music is the perfect fit. The aim of the man whether in a club or studio is an honest one: to convey the same experiences and feelings he himself gets from the music he makes, plays and unearths whenever he can... Driven by a real determination and rare passion to succeed Deltano is shaping up as one of the future’s brightest artists.

***** GARNOMALA
He’s not a dj at all, he’s not just a producer. This young man, called GARNOMALA lives in a little city somewhere on the eastside of Belgium. His romance with music started when he was just a little boy. Back then his world was especially influenced by grunge, hiphop and metal music. This all changed in a blink of an eye when he heard a set of Stimming. At that moment he realized this is what he wanted to do: creating music.
It started with software FL Studio. With this program he made his first tunes, basically, simplistic house music. For a joke he decided to put his stuff online, and it worked. Dr. Lektroluv commented his tune with: ‘ Keep on going kid, you got skills and feeling, only a lack of experience’. And that’s what he did. He quit FL studio and went on using Ableton. With this program the opportunities were endless. He worked his as off to bring something original and creative in the music scene that’s why he always plays live.
And so it worked. In 2010 releases began to come out on various record labels. Celestial Recordings, Plastik Philosophy, Modern Playground, ... Early 2012 his own label saw daylight and was created for his own work and that of producers he met.
And even though his tracks are never commercial, they are successful and catchy. This young man actually called Michiel Nuyts, knows the underground music scene and will certainly replete the scene with his own, special way of making music and performing live.
***** TIMESTALKERZ
Timestalkerz are two deejays/producers hailing from the east of Belgium.
Both of them fascinated by music at an early age, they soon found
each other in their never ending quest to find and play good music.
Making the music themselves quickly became a part of that... with their
debut release seeing daylight in 2012.
Their style can be described as quality underground deep & tech-house,
with jazzy, latin and even some minimal influences.
