Tim Sheridan

  • Sideways Recordings return for the third time this year to The Lockside Lounge in Camden and we are very pleased to announce we have a 3 HOUR SET from our headliner, Tim Sheridan. Originally a classical performer in the British Military, Tim Sheridan found a love of Washington Go Go liberated him to become a drummer and early pioneer of Linn and Simmons electronic kits. By the mid 80's he was deeply into electronic music both live and recorded. He got his first industry break in 1988 with childhood friends the Utah Saints, then an experimental electronic group and rave promoters. They went on to have several chart hits but Tim soon went his own way as a DJ and has become an international name over his 30 year career behind the decks. He has been a full time resident at Cream, Home, Manumission, Ministry of Sound, Space Ibiza, Turnmills, The Key and Matter. He is the most frequently booked guest at the UKs longest running club Back to Basics and similarly at Mr.C's Superfreq. He's been a regular guest at every major club in the world and a fixture on the festival circuit. Tim was part of the team that took the Kiss FM radio franchise out of London and was the founder of Kiss 105 in the north of England. He wrote for Jockey Slut, Muzik and 7 magazines in their heyday and for DJ magazine each issue until very recently. Tim also helped found the popular Ibiza Voice website. His production career spans decades but his outstanding work is with clients that include Moloko, Finitribe, Brand New Heavies, Arthur Baker and Talvin Singh amongst many others. His studio collaborations range from classical and soundtrack work to Shaun Ryder, Howard Marks and Jon Carter to modern releases with Martin Dawson, Andre Crom and Spektre. Tim is most well known for his long association with Ibiza and after taking the island by storm with his nastydirtysexmusic beach parties he went on to the tour the concept globally with partner Smokin' Jo to eventually revive the fortunes of Ministry of Sound by taking the party there and making it one of London's premier events and universally acknowledged in the press as the No 1 New Years event when Tim wrapped it up in 2006. Since then Tim has mainly concentrated on his record label veryverywrongindeed also known as "VVWI" and as well as several large residencies as an event the label has gone on to great success with fans as diverse as Danny Tenaglia, Sebo K, Laurent Garnier, Ellen Allien, Dan Ghenacia, Nick Warren, John Digweed and Richie Hawtin. VVWI recently celebrated 8 happy years.
