Room40 and IMA are pleased to announce Glitterbug and Clare Cooper for the 16th installment of the microMONO series, April 25 in the IMA gallery space.
Glitterbug is a Cologne composer, producer, DJ, artist and curator; standing tall in all musical genres he puts his fingers on. Be it deep techno, remixing, ambient works, writing music for films or installations, his musical language always resonates with a score-like, visual approach. With masterful production and greatest attention to broadened frequency and smallest detail, he has managed to create unique audio landscapes; sonic experiences, emotive and powerful. His music and remixes have been released on internationally acclaimed labels such as Ware, Wolfskuil, Mule, Notown, Ghostly, False-Industries, Ki, Obsolete Components, and of course his own c.sides label.
Glitterbug has often been called a master of musical story telling, and believes that heavy content and serious matters can still be an integral part of techno music. His work is impacted by his experiences growing up with electronic music more as a concept attempting to cross differences between class and race while striving for new and futuristic aesthetics.
Glitterbug has released his music and remixes on acclaimed labels such as Ghostly, Ki Records, Notown, Wolfskuil, Ware, Mule, Obsolete Components, False Inc., and of course his own c.sides Label.
