Inviting both low-end purveyors from international stages and local heroes at the forefront of Australian electronica, the fifth edition of the Vivid LIVE Studio Series shimmers in on Saturday 25 May as house music favourites Future Classic celebrate their astonishing year with the Australian debut of two twenty five year old prodigies – the Flying Lotus endorsed, r ‘n’ b-leaning UK beatmaker Lapalux and Norway’s own hip-hop-house fusionist and high-end remixer, Cashmere Cat.
Sitting atop the LA-driven Brainfeeder label as its only British counterpart, Lapalux’s critically acclaimed debut Nostalchic distills Future Classic’s curatorial ethos to a tee whilst Cashmere Cat’s breakthrough Mirror Maru EP echoes the recent success of FC wonderkid and last year’s Vivid LIVE graduate, Flume – remixing the likes of Lana Del Rey, Drake, 2 Chainz and Miguel to a HudMo-endorsed ecstasy. Joined by Italo-disco explorer and Van She-founder Michael Di Francesco in his indie-dance dominating Touch Sensitive guise alongside blissed out Brisbane producer Charles Murdoch, Vivid LIVE welcomes Future Classic back in all their playful, euphoric glory.
