Before this night of interstellar music begins, we will be hosting a presentation and panel discussion "Music in the Internet Age: Industry Perspectives", presented by Doctor Wassim Alsindi of Supernatant Laboratories. Wassim, aka missaw, is also Centrifuge’s founder, events promoter, artist manager and label curator. The panel begins promptly at 8pm so please arrive early.
After the discussion has quieted, missaw will head to the dj booth to share with us his selections from the cutting-edge musical spectrum. From ambience and drone to electro, acid and drill & bass, missaw will mine his well-travelled collection of classics, obscurities, forthcoming label material and exclusive music from the artists and labels The Centrifuge is affiliated with.
Following missaw, No Headphones will play a short set as we make the transition and prepare for a 3+ hr set from Frankfurt's Gerd Janson. Gerd Janson is the quintessential DJ’s DJ, unearthing the gems that get other music lovers hot and excited. Whether at the helm of the long-running Liquid club night at Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson with DJ comrade Thomas Hammann, dishing out simmering analog House as co-owner of label Running Back, or penning many a story for Germany’s Spex and Groove magazines, not to mention his scholarship of American studies, he seems to run on more powerful batteries than the rest of us.
