- They'll be playing two very different shows in Melbourne. The first being 100% Party where the three artists will DJ at The Mercat Basement with a performance from Outback-jackers Zanzibar Chanel and DJ LA Pocock. The following night 100% Live which we'll see the crew play live. With support from local 100% Silk artist Roland Tings & new-comer DJ Salmon Barrell. Founded by Amanda Brown (LA Vampires/Not Not Fun Records) 3 years ago 100% Silk has slowly and strongly become one of the most influential & innovative record labels in dance music today. Introducing the world to the likes of Ital, Fort Romeau & Maria Minerva the LA label shows no signs of slowing down, giving us a slew of forward-thinking-backward-looking dance floor gems on a regular basis. Octo Octa's debut EP 'Let Me See You' was an instant classic referred to by 100% Silk's label head as "....literally one of my favourite songs ever released on any of my record labels". His brand of R&B sampling deep & emotional house has earned him a spot in Red Bull Music Academy 2013 and critical acclaim within dance world and indie-circles alike. Magic Touch aka Damon Palermo channels the psychedelic ethos of his native San Francisco mixed with the house movements of Chicago, Detroit with a sly wink to the UK underground. Aside from being one of half of Mi-Ami (Ital being the other member), playing an amazing live set on Boiler Room TV recently, DJing the legendary Panorama Bar and appearing at Sonar, he’s just been included on Derrick May & Jimmy Edgar’s forthcoming ‘We love Detroit’ compilation.
