The original receipt at the foot of the Eiffel tower with an ethnological touch. In partnership with the Musée du quai Branly, one of the most important museums in the world dedicated to non-occidental culture, our parisian project proposes to musicians an exceptional access to the museum’s audio collection. The carefully selected musicians will thus be invited to sample a set of resources of an unsuspected wealth then to replay it during an ultimate free and open-air public event.

Bien connu des adeptes du site de la Blogothèque pour ses concerts à emporter dont le concept a depuis fait nombre d’émules, Vincent Moon est un vrai nomade contemporain. Non pas de ceux qui courent après le wifi entre Paris, New-York et Tokyo mais de ceux qui vont à la rencontre des peuples et civilisations du monde. Et tout comme ses images, Vincent Moon fait donc le tour de notre planète, dans un sens, dans l’autre. Il en ramène de beaux enregistrements audio et vidéo qu’il confrontera à la collection du Musée du quai Branly.
The always exciting, prolific and influential filmmaker Vincent Moon takes new bold steps beyond his original La Blogotheque ‘Take Away Shows’; his Arcade Fire, The National, Beirut, R.E.M, Mogwai and ATP films to journey around the globe and enthrall us with his ‘Petites Planètes’ explorations. Petites Planètes is a collection of recording experiments from unexplored worlds - sonic, visual, cultural portraits - a nomadic label, made on the road by Vincent Moon and friends. Petites Planètes is not an archival project but explores the limits of ethnographic representation, recording people, culture, music, religion and ritual in the twenty-first century.

Electronicien pur jus, usager des technologies virtuelles les plus sophistiquées, ayant été invité dans les plus grands festivals d’art numérique, Kangding Ray représente (peut-être malgré lui) un certain exégète de notre société occidentale. Pour cette occasion spéciale, au-delà de la confrontation, un poil surannée, entre ultra modernité en marche et tradition séculaire archivée, Kangding Ray devrait nous impressionner par sa maitrise et sa technique de traitement des sons appliquée à une matière sonore bien distincte de celle pour laquelle il est connu.
Kangding ray's music reflects his wide musical background, and a particular way of merging beats and textured soundscapes into slowly evolving compositions. KR combines machines with « real instruments » in a subtle and rythmic suite, integrating digital anomalies, walls of distortion, massive bass lines, micro-noises, voices and field recordings to create tracks that sit right between noise-pop, dubstep and experimental music. Lately he pulls us through crisp rhythmic assaults, punctuated by acidic basslines and the sort of atmospheres you wouldn’t expect to find on Raster-Noton imposing a unique sensibility upon the kind of disciplined, fanatically detailed brand of computer music that's relatively common to his label brethren.
