Heroes brings together some of the most cutting edge dance music and this month it welcomes from Berlin’s Berghain club, Leni Faki and his Figure label showcase featuring fellow Berliner, Markus Suckut, and in Room 2, Panarama Bar’s bi-monthly resident, Oliver $, currently picking up heat on his and Cajmere’s new ‘We Can Make It’ featuring Dajae.
A Berlin resident since 2003, Len Faki’s strong appearances at Ostgut (Berlin) culminated in his residency at Berghain, a position which further fuels his open-minded approach as both DJ and producer. The characteristic extra-long DJ sets see him vary the music in tone, style and feed him with extra inspiration.
Having spent years of fruitful productivity and managing two highly acclaimed Techno labels: Monoid and Feis, Len Faki’s Figures label is now setting the techno world alight with its original releases and strong style. With huge tunes such as the Len Faki Remix of Pfirter’s ‘The Dub Track’, a.Mochi’s ‘Black Out’ and Len’s Dj Edit of DJ Hyperactive’s ‘Wide Open’, come and hear the latest Exclusives.
Another of Berlin’s rising new names to watch is Markus Suckut, experimental and emotive in his musical sets, and making his London debut. One year on from the launch of his record label, Markus releases the first Remix EP, ‘SCKT’ on his label which features Sweden’s Splice and Bleak.
Headlining the Terrace is Berlin born and based producer & DJ Oliver $, the head-turner behind releases, ‘Whatcha Gonna Do’ and ‘You Got It’, on Made To Play. Over the past 3 years, Oliver $’s name has become one of the most recognizable in house music. His ‘Doing Ya Thang’ was a No 1 track on Beatport, topped the charts throughout 2011, and Oliver landed a bi-monthly residency at the famous Panorama Bar in Berlin, representing Made To Play for their label showcase. Now catapulted into a new league, Oliver demonstrates his skills not only in production but similarly in Live and DJ sets.
Joining him in the Terrace is Leicester’s HIM_SELF_HER, best known for their 'Gone Too Long' release on Cream Couture records in 2012, which spent 11 weeks at No1 in the Beatport New Disco chart, and spent a mind-blowing 7 months in the top 10.
Support came from the likes of Pete Tong, who billed it as his 'Essential New Tune' and Jamie Jones, who played it in his Hot Creations closing set at DC10. The track was soon picked up by Damian Lazarus, who has since signed the pair to Crosstown Rebels.
Busy in the studio with releases for Eskimo, Love Matters, Runnin' Wild, Love Not Money and Circle Records - all achieving Beatport charting and peer respect from the likes of Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Solomun, H.O.S.H, Lee Foss, Jamie Jones and Sandy Rivera.
