  • LUM (last underground movement) is back for the summer in sunny Newquay. bringing you TOM DEMAC (live). Expect Deep, bassin House music all night. This is not to be missed!! You dont see underground acts like this in Cornwall! With added decor and lighting we promise to bring something never seen in Kernow and an atmosphere to get lost with!! TOM DEMAC The potted history of Tom Demac goes a little like this… As a youth in Wales, he caught the electronic bug from older friends and soon found himself raving at free parties in the woods. After this muddy introduction, experiences got more credible with bi-weekly pilgrimages to The Orbit and Atomic Jam - returning to muck about with a four track in a friend’s garage. Sadly, adulthood kicked in and so young Tom plunged into a Music Tech course at Salford University, ultimately spending the following years honing his record collection with frequent trips to hallowed vinyl outlet Eastern Bloc in Manchester. Promoting parties had also seeped into his day to day at this point, as had running his own label, Electronique Audio, with a small but perfectly formed techno back catalogue now a fond memory. After an unfulfilling time in ‘proper’ employment, Tom decided to dive headfirst and full time into music, locking himself away with no windows, some synths, pots of coffee and cigarettes. Soon the result began to surface on labels like Murmur, Four: Twenty and Morris Audio, but the real breakthrough came with landmark releases on scene leading label Hypercolour and its more boutique offshoot, Glass Table. Tracks like ‘Critical Distance Pt 2’ and those from the Obstructing the Light EP became ubiquitous in their year of release, each one demonstrating Demac’s knack for kinked grooves, slaying bass-lines and rich analogue textures. Part house, part techno, they exhibit serious sound design, almost anthemic in nature but being wholly underground at the same time. This turning point was marked in the media with glowing features, interviews and mixes commissioned by influential e-zines Resident Advisor and XLR8R. Even british broadsheet The Sun couldn’t resist getting their slice of the man who has played ‘live’ everywhere from fabric to the warehouse project, on Boiler Room and all across both Europe and South America in recent months. The said live set frequently changes, each show bringing a constant and intense wall of sound, blending a fine balance of vintage drums, ripping analogue synth lines and contemporary grooves into something wholly new and exciting. Tom Demac is by no means a new talent – the man has been in the game a decade now – but is someone very much shaping the modern scene. And rightly so. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/tomdemac http://tomdemac.com/ https://soundcloud.com/tomdemac PETER GLASSPOOL Hypnotic sound scape low end house is what u can expect from Peter Glasspool, taking pride on building a record collection that is as diverse as it is abstract to say the least. Pete's influences range from a vast array of underground talent that caught his ear early on which filled his youth with dance floor action. Spending many years listening to the likes of Craig Richards and Ricardo Villalobos. Pete has developed a fine tune that exceeds anybody's expectations, his ability to create an atmosphere weather it be early warm up duties or afters late has caught the eye of many, playing venues such as legendary Back To Basics in Leeds and a whole host of other respectable clubs, parties and nights in and around east London wheres home is at. Production wise expect deep filled low end driven groove with plenty of funk, soul and swing. https://soundcloud.com/peter-glasspool http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/peterglasspool PIERS KIRWAN UK born and bred, Piers Kirwan, dj/producer who since the late 80's have slowly moved up and worked their way into the global house music network. One half of stereo Mutants for 8 years with releases on Defected, Duffnote, Seamless, Bubble soul, Open bar, Soulphuric records, Cayanne uk, One51 etc. Piers has dj for a 23 years this year. His dj career began doing house parties in and around the South West of England during the late 80's early 90's. Piers at the time was playing a club called the Bowgie with the then unsigned Aphex twin whom he went to college with, Piers also did massive warehouse parties in Plymouth 90/91. In 92 Simon Gordon asked Piers to reside alongside him at the now infamous Natural Rhythm nights. These nights were run by Si and during their 9 year reign the 2 dj's played alongside such luminaries as Claudio Coccoluto, Alex Neri, Danny Rampling, Smokin Jo, Angel Moraes, Xpress 2, Ricky Montanari, Allister Whitehead, Cj Mackintosh and many more. Off the back of this success came a string of dates and gigs nationally and internationally, Piers is still producing his other musical love of Liquid drum & bass which he had out 3 tracks on SOUL DEEP RECORDS in 2011. Along the way which he has success with also, signing singles off to Smokin Beats UK under his PK guise. After 80 + releases and remixes for stereo mutants and travelling to asia, and around europe. Piers decided to do some solo projects in 2012 and as a result had tracks signed to Grant Nelsons FREEZE DREID and remixes for JUST4FUNK Italy, TALL HOUSE recs, TRICIRCLE germany, ROBERTO DE CARLO Barcoda and Dave Mayer. Piers is also teamed up with Justin Harris (FREAKS) under the name SKYRATS which we have 2 releases on the infamous paranoid label and diamondhouse germany http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/pierskirwan/biography https://soundcloud.com/piers-stereo-mutants THE DISCOGUNS Amazingly productive, would be the appropriate explanation for these Falmouth (Cornwall) based trio, although making music was not the start of things for these guys. They came together though dj'ing at various events across cornwall and installing sound systems for close friends and customers (under the name of Audio Source), so it was second nature to them to turn up, impress and get the job done. After working the sound system circuit for a while and djing at various events / night clubs they became a well established underground house music event 'Pop Clique' along side brad 212 where they are still rocking dance floors to this day, mainly at there residential home ground of The Watermans / Falmouth where they have been holding it down every month. With proceeding to amaze ear drums with good quality sound / lighting and house music they still could not feed there appetite to impress within the music industry ……… So The Discoguns were born, making mind altering glitches, crisp drums and smooth warm basslines, these boys have only been producing together for less than 2 and half years and have already been putting there feet firmly within the industry on such labels as JAMBALAY RECORDS / 2mr2 Records / 4House Digital / Dance Lab Recordings / Ventress Recordings / Kiss Dance Records & Karmak Records. Expect more than a lot coming from The Discoguns in the very near future. https://soundcloud.com/discoguns https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Discoguns/131562283566545 Doors open at 10pm - 4am tickets: Early bird - £5+bf 1st phase - £8+bf 2nd phase - £10+bf 18+ ONLY
