MARCELLUS PITTMAN DJ (Sound Signature, 3 Chairs -DETROIT)
Malik began his DJ pursuits for college parties, wedding receptions, "old school parties" in the early 90's. In 1993, Malik released his initial work of production with local Hip-Hop collective "Home Grown". Shortly thereafter, he released "Essential Selections, Vol. 1" on the Sound Signature label, headed by Theo Parrish. In 1998, Malik forged a working relationship with Rick Wilhite, Theo Parrish and Kenny "Moodymann" Dixon, collectively known as the 3 Chairs. As production artists and selectors, they have helped to define an integral part of the Detroit sound. Malik's sound has been around the Detroit and surrounding areas, as well as internationally, spanning Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan and Paris.
ZERNELL DJ (Grimy Edits -CHICAGO/LA)
Zernell was born in Chicago and started DJing at the age of 14. This was during the early years of house music and like a lot of Chicago teens he religiously listened to the Hot Mix 5 on WBMX . By 1986 most of his friends where into the Disco-House music culture and his best friend the infamous Mr. Gene Hunt was RON HARDY's protege. Zernell musically grew up in the Music Box listening to the sounds of Ron Hardy and was schooled by the master & protege in the art of song selection and timing that drives dancers into a frenzy. Zernell's Grimy style of music features some of the hottest and rarest disco songs and re-edits mixed just the right way to keep you dancing and wanting more, which has made Zernell one of the hottest DJs in the underground disco scene today. Zernell has done numerous parties including Chicago, Detroit, New York, Miami and LA. He has toured the U.K. and Europe and headlined parties in London, Amsterdam & Berlin. He has released frequent mixes on various websites such as Deep House Page and Bring the Heat, which gained him attention & fans of music lovers across the globe. Zernell's love and passion for disco/house is as strong as it was in the 80's and out of that passion Zernell created the disco edit label Grimy Edits, which have sold thousands of units worldwide.
MAGIC TOUCH DJ (100% Silk - LA)
Damon Palermo has been making adventurous house and disco music under the moniker Magic Touch since August 2011. In a short time the producer/DJ has amassed an impressive following and several well-received releases, kicking off with the critically-lauded 100% Silk release "I Can Feel The Heat," which was a recommended release of the week at Boomkat and made 20JazzFunkGreats Best of 2011 list. More recently he released a split 12" with close collaborator Ital. Magic Touch live sets mix the psychedelic ethos of San Francisco with the house movements of Chicago, Detroit and smatters the whole thing with a solid nod to the UK rave underground. In demand at festivals including Sonar, Unsound and CTM, as well as touring Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, Magic Touch is also traveling the world DJing at places like Berlin's legendary Panorama Bar, Lux Fragil, The Shelter Shanghai and Dommune in Tokyo. Recently Magic Touch collaborated with Japanese producer Sapphire Slows for an EP out December 11th on 100% Silk. Early 2013 sees the release of a new Magic Touch track on the Derrick May & Jimmy Edgar We Love...Detroit compilation. The producer is also working on a number of yet to be announced projects for 2013.
CROMIE DJ (Rhonda International, Peach -CROATIA/LA)
With a giant cheshire cat like smile plastered across his face and an infectious cheerfulness it's hard not to feel at home around him. When you add that to his carnal knowledge of all things deep u know why he was christened into the Rhonda International fam. Croation born and LA bred, this transplant has an undying love for unshakeable tenets of house & garage, and it shines through in his music. He also has a release coming out on Peach Records on 6/11 with remixes by Kyle Hall, Ghosts on Tape and DJ Spoko!
PICKPOCKET DJ (Donuts, Big Fun -LA)
DONUTS Founder and resident DJ PICKPOCKET, a.k.a. Kat Matutina, recently moved back to Los Angeles (after 10 years) with an 8 year period in San Francisco and some time in NYC. Pickpocket spins a variety of records ranging from rare disco and boogie, to acid house, detroit, freestyle, baltimore club, ghetto tech, italo, dutch electro, post punk, minimal/synth wave, freestyle, cosmic synth and 90's house. Donuts has been creating parties with both live bands and up and coming DJs since 2006 which began in San Francisco, and eventually occasionally spread to New York and Los Angeles. Donuts has been dedicated to bringing artists together where people can experience both live music and DJs and dance to new and vintage sounds in a fun, underground atmosphere complete with lasers, visuals, and free donuts at every party!
