The freaks may come out at night, but the real troopers come out after dawn. In their home of Amsterdam – a city slowly but surely breaking free of its opening hours – the Breakfast Club boys have been true after hour pioneers.
On Saturday the 19th of October, they move to Amsterdam’s renowned Melkweg venue (capacity 2000+), bringing you another unforgettable morning with Mathew Jonson vs. Minilogue, Levon Vincent, Prosumer, Fred P and Third Side – to name a few. Oh, and did we mention Hotmamahot’s epic breakfast buffet yet?
Breakfast Club has been at the forefront of odd-hour clubbing in Amsterdam since the summer of 2010. Spearheaded by four established members of the city’s thriving underground, and based around the simple concept of enjoying mesmerizing house and techno over some wholesome bio-foods, Breakfast Club has become one of ADE’s most notorious after hours. Drawing from electronic music’s cutting-edge, they’re known to bring some of the best beats in town. This year, they welcome you to to dance the morning away at Melkweg; bigger, stronger, better. Three next level area’s filled with musical and culinary delicacies, from dawn till dusk! Breakfast will never be the same…
The highlight of the day should be a unique back to back performance by some of techno’s most trance-inducent artists. None other than Minilogue and Mathew Jonson team up for what promises to be an amazing three hour live jam. Both have proven their relevance for over a decade, still pushing the envelope after all those years. Prologue’s rising star Abdullah Rashim should get the morning juices flowing. As will three hour dj-sets by the likes of Prosumer and Fred P, and a two-and a half hour set by Levon Vincent. Topping it off with a rare live performance by Matrix Record’s lauded Convextion. And what to think of the legendary Mr. Ties (Homopatik), touching it down for the first time on Dutch soil? Last but not least, Ostgut Ton’s Steffi and Analogue Cops team up as Third Stage for another Amsterdam live debut.
Dutch heroes I-f, Awanto3 and Steven Pieters & Khalil complete this line-up, bringing you the best in quirky yet emotionally charged dance music. So where are the residents in all this, you may ask? They chose to step aside and enjoy their own party from the dancefloor for a change. ‘Cause they know just as darn well as the rest of us, that those hazy morning hours at Breakfast Club are where the real magic happens…
