This is the 1st of many party’s we will be throwing this summer and it sees us come a long way since we first started out back in August 2012. Now we’re pushing on once again. Our friends at DSNT hail from the city of Belfast, who have hosted a string of major parties with bookings such as: Truss/Mpia3, Xhin, AnD, Sunil Sharpe, Lucy and more. It acts a multi-disciplined creative company based in Belfast with a presence in: Artist management, events, graphic & motion design, filming & editing services, curating art exhibitions, creating visual arts and motion graphics. Paul first gained recognition in the early to mid 2000s after winning an IDJ Magazine remix competition under the name Digital Filth, producing and DJing mostly house music, breaks and hip hop. In 2008, after long being inspired by the UK’s longest running techno night ‘Atomic Jam’ in Birmingham, Paul decided to make a change musically, moving into the world of techno under the name Dead Sound. Since starting out as Dead Sound, Paul has produced a variety of techno sub-genres including his own more broken beat and 4/4 styles by himself and also producing industrial techno alongside DJ partner Videohead. Dead Sound’s debut EP, released through Datatrace, displayed an experimental mixture of IDM, bassline orientated techno and dubstep. This earned him early support from Surgeon and introduced the name Dead Sound into the techno scene. Following on from this EP, Paul released some slower, more electronic and broken beat sounds though Acroplane Recordings. After hearing Dead Sound’s demos, Perc asked Dead Sound and his DJ partner Videohead to remix tracks for Go Hiyama and Samuli. Following the success of these remixes, The Chosen EP was released under Perc Trax. Dead Sound will be releasing his solo EP on Perc Trax, due out in December 2011/January 2012. Following the hype of the Perc Trax releases, Acroplane requested some tracks from Dead Sound and Videohead which are due out in November 2011 under the name Pench EP. Coinciding with the Perc Trax releases, Gynoid and Electrax showed an interest and Dead Sound has carried out various remixes for them and has EPs due out later in 2011/early 2012 Alongside Perc and Surgeon, Paul has gained the support of other big players in the techno scene such as Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin, James Ruskin, Xhin, Stormfield and Warlock and notably Bas Mooy with whom a collaboration project is in the pipeline. Eomac: Eomac is one half of duo Lakker (Stroboscopic Artefacts, Blueprint), but is also a DJ and producer in his own right. His eclectic style is reflected in both his productions and his DJ sets - expect anything from blistering techno to haunting 2-step to the darkest depths of dubstep and back again. He has released on a number of labels, most notably his 'EP One' on Hsuan Records, 'Clap Your Hands' 10" on Maigret Records and a self-titled EP on Belfast's Acroplane Recordings. This year has seen him stray further afield with a 12" on Berlin based label Killekill, backed with a remix by Stroboscopic Artefacts boss Lucy, and a track on Moerbeck’s new Code Is Law imprint. DJ support has already come from Nina Kraviz, Tommy FourSeven, DVS1, Cassegrain, Damu, DJ Flush, Wen, Blackdown, Lucy and none other than Aphex Twin, who was dropping unreleased Eomac tunes in his 2012 DJ sets. Nez – DSNT Records It all started for Belfast’s Chris Nez when he was brought along to David Holme’s infamous Shake Ya Brain club night, in Belfast by a friend almost 20 years ago. That night opened up a whole new world of music that he’d never heard before and which he instantly fell in love with. Shortly after he was inspired to start mixing himself . Initially inspired by Detroit techno and Chicago house Nez’s horizons have gotten progressively wider as he’s got into the glitchier, more leftfield side of electronic music, taking in Electro, Acid and IDM. His obsessive love of vinyl and DJing has led to him posting up a steady stream of mixes online, which have been broadcast on various radio stations,as well as being posted on blogs and various websites. He’s supported a ton of top producers and DJs from the likes of Surgeon, Mala, Oneman, Regis, Altern 8, Hudson Mowhawke and James Ruskin to Dee-Lite, 808 State, DMX Krew, Xhin, Kink, Regis, Jackmaster, Radioactive Man, Scion, DJ Pinch and DJ Deep. In the past he’s promoted nights in Belfast and Leeds which included a residency at ‘Darkside’ and co-run ‘Grub’ with Boxcutter. He also ran Pressure and was resident DJ for Space Dimension Controller’s night Basic Rhythm. He is currently co-running the Scope, DSNT and Beat BBQ nights and locks down one of the best shows on the web, the Computer Controlled Radio Show Costelloe [Subignal / Signal Code records] His releases specialize in through loopy basic channel influenced techno. With releases sold world wide and getting plays from everywhere from Tresor in Berlin to Japan and kudos from everyone such as Surgeon to Luke Hess. Founder of new Dublin based label Signal Code specializing in stripped down dub-techno and tougher minimal sounds. Soundscapes from second wave Detroit, dub techno and deeper house arrangements no doubt influence the project. The label is indicative of a healthy production scene in Ireland with home-grown talent having their music released on 12”s. @ The Underground, Kennedys Friday 12/6/13 Admission: €10/€8 Doors: 10:00pm – 3:00am Kennedys 31 – 31 Westland Row, Dublin 2, Ireland.
