Astral People invite you to a night of basement mayhem with LA beatmaker SALVA and Sydney risers WAVE RACER and MEARE.
Salva’s West Coast meets East London approach finds its inspiration from Miami Bass, Chicago House and LA’s modern beat culture. With a debut EP ‘YelloBone’ under his belt (including remixes from Shlohmo and LOL Boys) Salva’s LP ‘Complex Housing’ was released under Friends of Friends in 2011. With a breakthrough R.L Grime collaboration (remixing Kanye West) and a brand new EP ‘Odd Furniture’ out in 2013, Salva has since received spreads from Fader and Pitchfork as well as artist support from Snoop Dogg, Night Slugs, A-Trak, Diplo and more. Salva also helms the innovative Frite Nite label - releasing works from Sepalcure, B. Bravo and others whilst performing at events including The Do Over, Low End Theory, Coachella, Lollapalooza and Red Bull Music Academy.
On support for Salva is Sydney riser WAVE RACER, fresh off the release of his double single Stoopid/Rock U Tonite. With strong airplay from Triple J and BBC Radio 1 underpinning a global following, we’re sure that Wave Racer’s irresistible sounds won’t be heard in venues this intimate for too much longer.
Rounding out this one-off is fellow Sydney solo producer MEARE, as well as DJ sets from Astral Huggz and Triple J presenter (+ creator of Australia’s greatest green screen productions) Lewi McKirdy. Brace yourself for double down mayhem all night long!
