  • --Artist Biographies-- +++Angel Costa+++ Angel started his career in the early 90s on the Spanish island of Mallorca, where he was born and raised. From his early beginnings, he was playing different musical styles including house in various local clubs. In all his sets, he would always push the envelope and expose new sounds to his audience. A little after year 2000, Angel was finally and completely turned onto techno and hasn’t turned back since! In the past decade, he has been busy playing countless gigs in Mallorca and on the mainland of Spain and increasing his fan base in his homeland. A gig at the famous Sonar Festival in Barcelona inspired him to start producing music and to launch his own label REZ. He is currently busy producing and releasing his own music on REZ and on several international labels. After his debut show on the CLR podcast, he was instantly recognized by Brood Audio and has since signed on with the label with his massive track “Asylum” being charted by major artists and rising on the Beatport Top 100 Techno chart! After that, Angel has regularly released original and remixes on labels like: CLR, Electric Deluxe, micro.fon, Pong Music, Software Records, Natch, Cuatro Records, Illegal Alien, Eklero Records, Sonata... Angel is and has always been a major driving force in the development of Mallorca´s techno scene and is regularly hosting nights at the “Gothic” and the “Modular”, two renowned local clubs. He has become an ambassador for electronic music on the Balearic Islands and now with his productions, he’s also taking the world by storm! +++Justin Schumacher+++ One of the most promising up and comers in the burgeoning NYC techno/club scene. Justin Schumacher is managing to break through swiftly as his barrage of recent releases get more and more support around the elite techno circles. Label credits include Good For You, 069 Techno, Ohn.cet, Frakture Audio, Teggno, De-Konstrukt, Ill Bomb, Assimilation, Gotham Grooves, SLR, Subtrak, Kynatix, and more. Justin Schumacher’s production work remains thought-provoking and intelligent, employing complex fills and slick programming with exceptional sonic construction while still remaining floor-focused and energetic. He applies this same passion and attention to detail in his DJ sets which can span many different moods and grooves depending on the dancefloor he is working. His love for the music clearly shows when he performs, creating an instant connection with the crowd on the most primal and perennial level. It is no fluke as to why the global techno community is taking notice to Justin’s talent in the studio and behind the decks. Expect more strides and major announcements in the coming months as his long fought for dreams begin to materialize. +++Virulent+++ A former veteran techno DJ and producer of the Midwest scene, Virulent, also known as Kevin Farabaugh, has been slowly gaining momentum after rebooting himself into the techno world earlier this year. Shaking off a hiatus of nearly a decade after leaving his native Indiana, Kevin has been slowly but surely building up a staple of current releases on native North Carolina label Ill Bomb Records, along with remixes on 611 and DeKonstrukt and of course, working on a project for the Dystopian Rhythm label. Kevin’s music under the Virulent alias focuses on dark, hard and jackin’ techno drawing from early industrial as well as Detroit and Chicago tracks. This podcast is a reflection of some current favorites as well as a few surprises.
