Hailing from The Hague, Netherlands Dutch producer Dave Huismans is a man of many monikers. Dave is a veteran to the electronic music scene, having produced as Dogdaze and A Made Up Sound before settling on his new project as 2562. Though the names have changed, Huismans’ output has followed a progressively singular sound that combines the chest-rattling bass of dubstep with a broken beat skip anchored in the familiar 4/4 layout of house and techno.
If its hard to link the words to audio, Pearson Sound has done the favor of putting together a 30-minute retrospective mix containing some of the many highlights of Huismans’ back catalogue.
2562′s most recent release, Fever, is also a bit of a retrospective itself, as all the sounds from the tinniest hi-hat to the deepest bass have been culled from disco records past. Fever is a workout in sampling, and 2562 proves once again his mastery of the many different flavors of electronic music.
Be prepared to have your mind-warped by this relentless Dutch master.
