Zomby is the leader of a generation of electronic musicians capable of negotiating territory from jungle, dubstep, rave, garage or whatever else you could call it.
Following the success of his debut album Where Were You, it took Zomby three long, thoughtful years with an altogether different record Dedication (2011). The response was unanimous - he had written a modern masterpiece: “A mind-blowing record and one that will stand the test of time” DJ (9/10); “Downbeat and terrifically eerie” The Observer (4/5).
With Love (2013) is Zomby's third album. An astonishing 33 tracks that collectively trace an arc through dance music’s history, revealing an artist in his most creative phase yet. With Love is the work of a producer who has absorbed the shifting textures and plains of electronic music first hand, and reconfigured them into a definitive, sprawling love letter to the soulful dance music of his past.
2013 marks the first announced show since the release of this album, and the first time Zomby will have ever set foot in Australia. This will not be your everyday club experience.
Taking the reins from Zomby are cult figures of Melbourne’s underground DJ’s Otologic. Whether they’re growing their own local residencies, bringing international talent to Melbourne or being called upon to warm up for such legends as DJ Harvey and Andrew Weatherall (amongst an impressive list of others), do not hesitate to fling yourself with abandon on Otologic’s bandwagon!
