On Friday 18 October we are honoured to host GUY GERBER's Supplement Facts Records at a Secret Location in London. Joining Guy will be two of the label's leading lights – BILL PATRICK & MAAYAN NIDAM
Supplement Facts has become a household name amongst DJ's and partygoers alike since its creation in 2007. The label has gained international recognition with outposts around the world and releases from the likes of dOP, Michel Cleis and Shaun Reeves to name but a few.
We will announce the venue closer to the time, but expect much of the same - a la funktion one sound and epic production, as well as something special courtesy of Mr. Gerber and friends.
GUY GERBER
Before he was fiddling with drum machines and synths, Gerber was all about groups like Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine. Three years after his recording debut, Gerber released the first of several records on John Digweed's Bedrock imprint. A couple of years later, Sven Väth signed him to Cocoon, eventually releasing his album Late Bloomers. These days Gerber has the kind of artistic freedom he's always wanted, and it shows. Supplement Facts is more adventurous than ever, melding organic with electronic sounds. He recently released the critically acclaimed 64th mix of the eponymous Fabric Series using only his own releases, came 2nd in the Resident Advisor Top Live Acts of 2012 and launched his very own night at Pacha, Ibiza called "Wisdom of The Glove" that has featured some of the world's biggest artists including Nicolas Jaar and Lee Burridge.
MAAYAN NIDAM
Since she began DJing and producing in 1999, Maayan has racked up an impressive discography. With releases on the likes of Cadenza, Circus Company and Wolf+Lamb to name but a few. 10 years later she releaseD her debut album under the name: "Night Long" (on Japanese label PowerShovel), an intimate album woven together out of recordings of Cuba's best contemporary instrumentalists that later on that year was followed by an EP on the Berlin's Perlon. It's impossible to reduce Maayan's productions and DJ sets to a single sound, but certain qualities prevail: a loping, swinging, hips-and-ass-friendly sense of the groove; a bubbling sense of funk; a keen sense of timbre and tone color, with a wooly low end and crystalline highs. Like the best musicians, Maayan's work is all about communication. No wonder she understand the dance floor so well.
BILL PATRICK
Within the world of electronic music everyone has a tale about our friend Bill Patrick. Some funny, some sad, some tragic, most shady, but at the end of each story or any encounter with this demi god you're left wanting more. It doesn't matter that the only place he now plays are mega festivals like Sunwaves in Romania, or super clubs like DC10, Fabric, and Rex in Paris. Currently holding the A&R title for Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts label and hosting his wildly popular radio show, Private Stock on Pulse Radio, Bill still finds time to update his Facebook fan page and send out extremely well written tweets. But he wants to step out of his box and come to us, to educate the minds of the world with his deep, psychedelic take on contemporary dance music
