SHANE LINEHAN [Basic Grooves / Wetyourself]:
Arriving on the scene in the mid 2000s, cutting his teeth spinning on Sub FM and running gigs in Cork and Limerick, where he earned his stripes playing support to some of the Ireland leading DJs, Shane Linehan has gone onto become one of Ireland foremost house music talents. Over the years Shane has built a reputation as a true lover of the authentic house sound, taking care to build a record collection spanning many years and styles of house music. Shane learned his trade through the lost art of warming up, and has spun alongside some of house music’s most respected names including Prosumer, Rob Mello, and Brawther. Today, he is known to play a variety of house sounds, from deep and dubbed out, to pacey and energetic.
As well as building a reputation as one of Corks most educated new- school house DJs, he has also honed his reputation as a much in demand producer. In his dedication to maintaining his own sound and style, Shane has stayed largely independent in releasing music. In 2011 he established BASIC GROOVES, a label where he could release music his own way and take utmost care with each release.
Despite being a fresh face in a hectic house scene, Shane has gained support from an array of heavyweight DJs and his records are played by Kerri Chandler, Jus- Ed, Jeremy Underground Paris, Brawther, Rob Mello, Jamie Jones, The Revenge, Dj Deep, Jimpster, and Milton Jackson amongst others.

Not every House DJ out there was incubated in a warm bath of Cajual & Trax records, then spat out onto turntables, fully immunised against all other forms of music.
Fortunately, for the crowds who pack out dirty club basements, to glamourous rooftop affairs, this isn't the case for Ruthit.
Before Carl Handley was introduced to electronic music at the age of 20, he'd previously shook walls, & windows, playing the drums in punk bands. It's possible that would have continued, only when friends at his football team put on a club night of their own. The turning point. His taste had been converted permanently to the four to the floor rhythms.
Selling his drums to embrace his new Technics fuelled habit, he trawled his native north east, taking in club-nights like Scott Bradford's 'Shindig' honing his ears to deeper sounds.
As with any house track. The beat goes on & gets more intense, so to does Ruthit's career. Heading over to the white isle of Ibiza in 2008. He & friends resided over a party, 'Square One' in Savannahs.
Breaking down the formula of house music into it's fundamental parts, he built it back up in his own interpretation, to make waves with releases on Four:Twenty & Mumur
Currently, Ruthit continues to display pinpoint accuracy, both in the studio, & locking people into the grooves of the records he drops.

BEANY SESSIONS has grown over the last three years; momentum has come naturally with our ongoing residency at Red Rum in Fallowfield.
The sole reason for us starting up this project was to promote local DJ’s and give them a platform to perform and harness their abilities. We wanted to give our parties an underground feel, a community atmosphere which we felt were lacking from other nights in Manchester.
Combining our love for all music, based on a driving house beat we have now hosted a great two years of parties at Red Rum and can safely say we have made the venue our own, the basement’s low ceilings have made for a fantastic intimate venue and home.
Expect to hear genre spanning music from our DJ’s. Do not be surprised when the dancefloor shakes to the sound of tracks from labels such as One Records and Deep Edition.
The mainstay, resident DJ, producer and up and coming local talent Larry Jones has been integral to the rising fortunes of Beany Sessions. Without his passion and drive, we would not have succeeded.
